Better than chia seeds
This mixes with water and expands right away. It’s awesome and so easy to use. Loving it so far after making a yogurt basil seed bowl/jar three times already. So good and so filling! High protein and high fiber.

Healthy seed swap!
Tried these due to their reported nutritional advantage over chia seeds. They certainly bring a different experience. They are larger and crunchier, but the major difference is their flavor/taste. Should we be surprised that the seeds of a spice plant would have a distinctive smell and taste? Of course not……but subbing them for chia in oatmeal led to a “what’s that veggie taste?” revelation at first. The product is of very good quality.

Great fiber and no soaking required!
These amazing little seeds provide a great texture to yogurt, acai bowls or even a bowl of cereal or ice cream. I initially purchased them for the fiber aspect, as I've read that chia seeds should be soaked prior to eating, yet these do not need to be soaked. They provide the same amount of fiber without the extra step of soaking. I will add, you can soak them, and they take on the same texture of a soaked chia. So far I love them. The value is good, perhaps not as good as buying chia in bulk, but they are easy to use and you don't have to wait for the soaking, so I add them to whatever I want. I may continue to use both these and chia depending on what I am making.

Amazing seeds
Very tasty and I am loving it with yogurt and it’s the recipe on the package. Also I am feeling more energy, it just seems to be over a good quality product. Texture is great and the size is similar to a chia seed. I fact the color looks the same as a chia seed. The prep time is very convenient and it will fill you up!Thank you for these amazing seeds that you have provided in this size, price and recipe. I am grateful for that.Highly recommend!

Fiber
The packaging was good. They are good and very similar to chia seeds, but nutritionally better.

Chia's classier cousin!
Super filling! No difference in taste from chia seeds. I add hot water and they are ready to go immediately. Great texture, easy to add to Greek yogurt. Great quality product, albeit a bit expensive for my pocketbook. I may only purchase twice a year, but that's good enough for me.

The Breakfast & Dessert of Champions
I’ve been eating the same boring breakfast nearly everyday for 20 years — oatmeal with ground flaxseed meal and blueberries…and also one whole egg + extra egg whites, with arugula. Years ago I’d have a shake every morning when pressed for time. But I’ll say this much, Zen Basil Seeds has now made my usual breakfast more exiting…and for the first time in a long time, I look forward to breakfast — especially my overnight oats with Basil seeds packed inside, with fresh blueberries and chopped fresh pears. Some claim a bag of Basil Seeds is too expensive? Well I don’t. Try eating eggs daily for less money. These basil seeds are actually a great deal for great quality…and I love the texture and how it tastes too.Keep complaining 28 servings is too expensive the next time you pay $15-$20 for a burger & fries or a sushi roll that’s gone in 5 minutes, when Zen Basil Seeds can last nearly a month.I use only one heaping tablespoon per serving added to my overnight/next-day oats (from One Degree) then add blueberries and some fresh organic pear chopped up. This bowl of breakfast boasts nearly 20 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein = my breakfast of champions that keeps me full and more than satisfied until my healthy lunch. It’s easy on the tummy and no noticeable bloating. Packed with fiber, nutrients & antioxidants, Organic Black Basil Seeds by Zen Basil is a game-changer. And I don’t profess this too often about healthy foodsSK Tips:I recently tried something new — one normal tablespoon in the evening with 1/2 coconut water & half water to sweeten it up a bit, for a basic & clean tasty dessert.I even did something I’ve never done — signed up on Amazon for Subscribe & Save 1x/month which saves $1/mo + an additional $1/mo savings with my Amazon Prime cash back rewards. It’s actually $18/mo instead of $20 and over the course of one year, it’s like getting more than a bag of Zen Basil Seeds for FREE.

Rehydrates fast
These really made a difference in my GI health. I didn't really have major problems but having these daily made everything perfect. The key to these is not rehydrating with any flavored stuff, just with water first for a few minutes, then add your flavor or lemon or electrolyte powder etc. It will rehydrate best with plan water. I really love how fast it is compared to Chia to rehydrate, I hate soaking overnight. I enjoy the texture, like tiny bubble tea. I crave it now and have a full serving every morning basically for breakfast with electrolyte powder.
