My favorite film from a kid love this movie

When people talk about dance films, a lot of the commonly referred to films tend to be Footloose, Dirty Dancing or Step Up. No one ever mentions Save the Last Dance! Which is a shame really, because it's such a great film! The story moves along really well and the characters change and develop without losing the roots of what makes them who they are. And it has some of the best choreography I can think of - especially the combination of ballet music and dancing with more hip hop elements very beautifully intertwined. It's definitely a must-see for anyone who enjoys this genre of films or is just dipping their toe into it. And I think it's importance in the genre is further solidified by the fact that there is a scene in this film that is hilariously parodied in the Wayans parody film Dance Flick.
