Best Maxwell pads
Best pads for the Maxwell. First off, they keep the original sonic tuning of the Maxwell without much deviation. Secondly, I prefer suede over leather and especially faux leather: more comfy, breathes better and makes and excellent seal for noise isolation. The fit is exquisite, and they keep the original thickness of the stock pads, so they’re just right!

Dye bleeds and foam wore out.
Lasted maybe 6 months-1 year. Foam ended up crushed and not keeping the drivers offset from my ears. Suede model, the black dye started leaving black circles on the side of my head. Might be better for smaller heads or less hot environments but definitely didn’t work for me.

As of this review, this is THE ONE
The Maxwell is a powerhouse headphone, and for me only has a couple of weaknesses. One of them is the shallow stock headphones. My ears aren't particularly big, but they touched the inside of the baffle. I can't stand that. That started me on an aftermarket pad journey. I've purchased a bunch of them since then, including all the Dekoni premium options. For me, until now, the Wicked Cushions were the best, despite the weight. The Dekoni sheepskin was a close second, and was superior for weight. These suede options are the king of all the options. They're soft, thick, light, and incredibly comfortable. They affect the sound very little, and well within the parameters of very slight EQ. If you're like me, the difference is so subtle it isn't even worth EQing. They're also gorgeous. Can't recommend these highly enough.

Received used ear pads
Was excited to get these and try them out… unfortunately I received a used pair. The box had been opened and the pads themselves had small hairs and skin flakes on them. Buy these somewhere else.

Elite Suede - Worth the Cost!!
Audio Ear pads are very difficult to review as they are extremely subjective and encompass not only fit and comfort, but also the potential effect on the sound of your headphones. For this reason, I needed to give them a solid week of continuous use, sometimes wearing them for 6 or more hours straight! After a week with Dekoni, I put the stock pads back on in order to compare, and I can tell you that the Dekoni Elite Suede's are going back on For Good! Here's what I found, compared to Stock Audeze Maxwell pads ... (at least for me .. wink wink) As a baseline, I found the Stock Maxwell headphones to be quite comfortable, though I felt that for their weight, they could use a tad more clamping strength on my head while moving around, hence my consideration of a pad replacement. My intention was to try the Dekoni Elite Lambskin version as it had been reported to have no effect on the sound signature which I liked. These "DEKONI Elite Suede pads" became available so I took a chance .... and I'm glad I did! These pads give you the best of both worlds with the quality and breathability of true leather, But also the softness of a velour like (suede) texture against your skin. The Dekoni's are slightly thicker in all dimensions, with plush relatively light memory foam and instead of giving you mm statistics, I chose to try and give you a photo with the Dekoni in the center and stock pads on either side showing the differences at both extremes of the canted pad design. It's not a lot, however it makes a BIG difference in comfort, giving just a scooch more room for your ears in depth without sacrificing the circumference size of the ear well. Another surprising side effect of the thicker pads however is that it caused a slight increase in clamping strength (a Plus for me) but at the same time; by spreading the headphone armatures, it caused a micro change in the head strap pressure which in my case needed to be expanded to allow the ear cups to envelope my ears properly. I discovered this the Hard Way, after initially wearing them for 6+ hours and finding that my ear lobes were tender from being clamped by the ear cups which were positioned too high on my head. When I adjusted the band by one set of holes and wore the next day for even longer, my ears were perfectly happy. Oh and no hot spots at all. It's not "cooling" memory foam, but it very comfortable for long periods. The only effect on the sound is super minor in the bass range and it's more of a feeling, similar to the difference you find between closed back and open back headphones. With stock pads being fake leather (called vegan … Huh?) and smooth, it creates a more positive seal around your ears and therefore punchy bass drums do just that to your head. The Elite Suede pads don't kill that bass, but it doesn't "Punch" you quite as hard. For reference I tested both using the “Standard Audeze” DSP sound setting so EQ’ing these would be easy to do. Helpful Note: Initially installing these pads was awkward and I was almost afraid of breaking the mounts on the Dekoni's as they did not initially "Click" in as the Stock Audeze pads did. Ironically, when replacing them after this review (to stay) they were much more positive in their engaging and clicking into place. Also note, not a Dekoni issue, BUT ... you REMOVE the pads by gripping and twisting Clockwise and INSTALL with a Counter Clockwise twist and it feels very unintuitive as it's opposite what you would expect! Comfortable but not intuitive to install
As a first-timer buyer of high-end gaming headphones, I'm not too familiar with how to replace the parts. it would've been nice for Dekoni to include some instructions in their packaging. That said, these ear pads are fairly comfortable.

Great earpads.
I feel like of the Dekoni pads for the Maxwell, these to me are the happy mid-point between the velour and the smooth sheepskin. The sheepskin seem audibly the closest to the stock pads, and these seem to offer a slightly more v-shaped sound, which I think a lot of people prefer for gaming in general. You do lose some impact in the lower mids, which for me would detract from some musicality, but it's really not a dramatic impact, and the comfort on these is fantastic. These at least for me, are less sweaty without losing as much of the lower range as you do with the velour pads. Nice compromise. Kind of harder to clean than the others, so I suppose it's a situation of determining priorities. For me these are sweet stock of Dekoni and better than stock.

Very comfortable, perfect fit replacement
The original pads on my Maxwells were never quite comfortable. For a few months I was using gel pad replacements but I never liked the feel of the material. The materials on these pads feel flat out luxurious on my ears. I wholly recommend them SO LONG as your ears don't stand out too far from your head. If you need very deep headset pads to keep them off your ear these may not work for you as the memory style foam in them causes them to be a bit shallower after compressed compared to the original pads. They don't -quite- cause the grilles to touch my ear (unless I press gently to increase compression) but they're very close and my ears are pretty average. If you have average or narrow ear distance from your head ... go for these.
