Best Amp at ANY Price Point. Beats tube amps.
A lot of old-time players will swear you need a tube amp, but this latest Katana Head (Gen 3), beats a tube amp in sonic quality and versatility, hands-down. It has a 5-inch built-in speaker that loud enough to gig with in a small club, and has all the bells and whistles on the front panel to get ANY sound you want. I hooked it up to a 1x12 cab, and 4x12 cab and it's loud enough to rock a stadium. Note with the built-in, 5-inch speaker you only get 30W, but again that's loud enough for a small clubs. You can also hook it up via USB-C to your computer where it serves as both a speaker AND an audio interface for a digital analog workstation (DAW) or even just making loops on Audacity. This is the only amp you need. Seriously. Super-Highly Recommended. I'd give it 10 stars if I could

Great Amp Head for a ridiculously great price
I wanted something heavier and louder than my Fender Champion 40, which is a decent amp for just jamming at the house and also something that wouldn't break the bank. The Boss Katana III does not disappoint. It's loud AF with a 4 x 12 SEISMIC Cab and has endless amounts of tone and 4 channels. I've had it a few weeks ago and I'm having a blast messing with it. I will get the Bluetooth wireless adapter soon and download the Boss Tone Studio app, from what I've read that opens up an infinite amount of tweaking and options you can play with. I'm not a professional or really proficient guitar player by any means so this is beyond anything I will ever need. For less than $400 this is a no brainer

Best amp you can get under $500 (IMO)
I’ve been using this as my main rig for about a year now, absolutely worth it. I’d even say this amp is batting outside of its price range. Great tones & very good quality all around everything. Once you learn how to use the tone studio you’re in business. It also works great with pedals too,, I actually avoided the tone studio for a while & just used my pedal board with the clean channel, but it’s worth learning how to work all the controls & stuff. Perfect for metal or hardcore distortion tones

THE GOAT in affordable amps
This is my fourth Boss Katana. Killer metal tones, especially when using the boss tone studio software. The versatility and features along with the price is astonishing. I can't say enough great things about this amp. It isn't PERFECT. Installing the drivers and software for the extra features is a bit slow and tedious, and great clean tones are a bit hard to dial in but not impossible. But I still give it five stars because, for the price and the features, the katana is simply unmatched.

Better than tubes... Really!
All the amp any guitarist will ever need, from rank beginner to studio musician. This amp has all the tonal qualities of a hand built tube amp with out the high cost and headaches that come with tubes. Gen 3 is different but not better than Gen 2 mk2. The Push is inside the the MK2, it just doesn't have its own dial setting. The Bloom is nice, but it oddly only seems necessary with the Gen 3, for the Gen 2 mk2 seems a bit beefier in the stock settings. The built in speaker has a nice Celestion vibe but it's very bass heavy. I dial the bass almost to zero and 9 o'clock and it sounds great. With 12 inch speakers, the mid positions of the EQ is a good starting point. I do not have the Waza speaker, but my favorite Celestion that pairs well with this amp is the V Type. That's just me. Bottom line, a dedicated guitarist could get any sound in any genre that will sell millions of downloads (used to be CDs) and tour the world making millions with just this amp. Nuff said.

Awesome Amp
Loving this amp. I have had it almost a year now and it is fantastic. Love all the built in effects so I can sample them without investing in individual pedals. Still learning how to tweak everything and how to use the preamp volume and gain to get unique tones. With the Boss Stuid software the possibilities with this thing are almost unlimited.

Sounds good
The different amount t of tone and sounds are great sounds like a tube to me. I have had Marshall's and Hellwin heads before ,and I like this amps sound as much as the Marshall. We'll worth the money.I am currently running this thru a 2 12 blackstar cab .

I have 50 MkI and 50 MkII and love them both for home play. Got the Gen 3 head and the new re-voicings, the extra amp type (Pushed), and volume Bloom, the EQ Contour, the Solo switch, three cab resonances… this thing is amazing. I use it for home practice through the built-in 5” reference speaker. It’s loud for sure. I’ll get a 212 cab someday but it isn’t necessary. Love love love it!
