Why did you pick this product vs others?:Just like the one my surgeon's office put on me, but better since it fits me.

These fit numerous sizes, thicker and more comfortable than original pads. Medical Suppliers charge $70.00, so this is a great value. I am very pleased with this product, the fit, the comfort, the value. The color does not matter. I fractured[broke] my neck, so I needed replacement pads, since I had the same pads this Miami J Collar came with in the E.R., for over 6 weeks. These pads are the best. If this Miami J Collar is going to have to be worn another 6 weeks, I will be ordering another set. Even after washing the original pads, I dislike the idea of putting them back on.

When I woke up after a delicate and complicated C-spine surgery at Johns Hopkins, this is the brace they placed on me. I bought another here so I could switch them easily so the one removed can be hand washed and air dried over night. This brace is perfect at preventing me from turning my neck in any direction. When seated If I doze off it maintains my head in it’s fixed upright position. It’s so much easier to sleep in because it’s so thin and allows your head to rest completely on the pillow, unlike the thick foam neck braces that hold your head up away from the pillow a couple of inches. I’ll be glad when I no longer have to wear this 24-7 but I’m happy that it allows me to sleep and thoroughly protects my spine and spinal cord that was fixed in a 6 hour surgery by the best spinal cord surgeon in America at the best neurosurgery hospital in the country with the most caring people at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. It was a fantastic experience and I never thought I’d say that about a surgery.

This is made out of the same material as the pads that come with the Miami J collar.as you can see the padding on right is the original padding for a size xtra small. The padding replacement is to large. It would work fine for medium size or larger.

I purchased July 22 2024 ossur Miami J cervical Neck collar 250 X-small the lowest support point cannot be securely fixed and moves from time to time I did not receive the protection and instead suffered the consequences creating a security threat

I have been wearing a neck brace 24 hours a day for the last 6 months, so I now consider myself to be an expert on the subject! I have tried 3 collars and this one is the best. The pads are thick and comfortable. They make it so much easier to sleep in the collar and they increase the support because there are no gaps between your neck and the brace. I am 5' tall and have a short neck so I ordered an MJ-300 short and it fits so much better than the one they gave me at the hospital. Definitely take advantage of the different size and shape options.

I have been wearing the two original sets of pads for my Miami J cervical collar, which is marked “extra small” size, since my surgery at the end of February. I thought having another backup pair would be good to have on hand, especially with sweating from living in Arizona, where it’s only May but our temps are already averaging 100 degrees+. Unfortunately, I found these particular replacement pads to be excessively large. The edges keep folding in and getting stuck to the Velcro areas, which need to be free and clear to strap the front of the collar to the back. While the quality of this item is excellent, I am very disappointed in my purchase. Perhaps if your cervical collar is a larger size than mine, you’d have better luck. Otherwise, I would suggest that you keep looking.

Top quality and easy to use. If you need one of these it mean you have a broken neck and you need to be held tight and this brace will fill the bill. I hated it but got use to it over time and given the alternative I leaned to love the discomfort.
