My First Sharpener

Made in GERMANY. This pencil sharpener is well made. It sharpens large diameter pencils and regular diameter pencils. Happy with this purchase. Much better than the two poor quality sharpeners from China that broke quickly and didn’t work well.

I don’t know why I’m so surprised at how amazing this sharpener is, considering the impeccable reputation of Ticonderoga pencils. This thing is incredible!!! It sharpens to PERFECTION…and I am the ultimate perfectionist. I sharpened about 10 pencils upon opening and it is consistently impressive. I also must mention the safety features. There is a lid that shuts so little fingers don’t get cut. The price is right…so excellent value. It is not messy, as the shavings go into a holder and it is super easy to empty it out (I already tried). The color matches the packaging for the pencils. It seems to be very durable, especially since it’s “manual.” This actually is nice though, because it means that it is easily portable. I can’t say enough great things about this product, I am pleased. I put a “before” and “after” picture for you to see for yourself!!!

Needed a sharpener for our thicker pencils that our toddler uses and this was the perfect match. Works great and is very easy to use.

The Ticonderoga My First Large Barrel Pencil Sharpener has been perfect for my 10-year-old son while drawing and sketching. I picked up the Ticonderoga My First Sharpener for pencil time at home and it’s exactly what you’d expect from Ticonderoga, basic, effective, and solidly made. It’s perfect for kids because it’s easy to use and holds up better than most generic sharpeners.

Works great for the My First Ticonderoga pencils! My 2 year old (almost 3) is able to use it with supervision easily. I appreciate that it has a cap so shavings don't leak out everywhere. Seems to be good quality as far as sharpeners go. I can see it being great for kindergarten classrooms!

I love that the top screws off for pencil shaving removal. My kids always accidentally pop off the top of other sharpeners but this feature prevents that making it much more portable and less prone to accidentally spilling pencil shavings all over the floor! It is high quality and the blade makes a perfect point on thick or chubby kid pencils. It's the perfect size for little hands to grip and maneuver. Only a couple twists and the point is ready to go. They work great for koala tools colored pencils too! My daughter loved putting stickers on the barrel to decorate it!
