Worked like a char
Son bought monitor without built-in speakers or 3.5 jack to use with his Xbox Series X which surprisingly enough does not support external speakers, just the main HDMI signal out to the tv. Took 5 minutes to connect this lil guy to some stand alone computer speakers and wallah, we have sound! No degradation or lag. 10/10

Great little box
This box works great! As advertised, strips the audio signal from the HDMI signal and gives you a stereo out jack to send the audio to your mixer. I am using this box with a laptop running karaoke software. After stripping the audio from the HDMI cable I run another HDMI cable from the box to the TV for the karaoke lyrics. In my experience this box works best when it’s plugged in and powered up first. Then power up your laptop/computer then the TV/monitor. If the box isn’t on first, it sometimes does not do what it’s designed to.

Great little HDMI extractor HDA-912
Great little product. I was confused by the hook ups, as I was thinking I could bypass ARC from my soundbar to my projector (the projector is non-ARC) and using the volume control on the soundbar causes the projector to go to its menu and it's hard to switch back the HDMI input after it does this; took about 3 attempts and was a pain. So what I had to eventually do is hook up the soundbar via it's optical out to the extractor's optical output and plug the projector into the HDMI output of the extractor. No Atmos over optical but I never really used that, but the 5.1 sound and picture quality are excellent and no more issues with the ARC or CEC function from the soundbar as there was no way to turn it off. Very happy with it and solidly built.

Display lacking an audio output? No problem!
Purchased with the intent of pairing a Streaming Stick+ from Roku with an older TV which somehow doesn't feature ANY audio output/pass-throughs. Taking the HDMI signal spit out by the Roku and injecting it into the HDA-912 results in a picture being sent on through to the display as well as a usable audio output to which my stereo is happily connected via analog.Note: if provided by the source, audio IS still sent through the HDMI output of the HDA-912 - think of the device as a means of adding connectivity rather than *splitting* the audio and video signalsPros:>Sturdy metal enclosure>Provides audio connectivity otherwise not available for displays lacking audio outputsCons:>Audio is "extracted" from the input HDMI signal yet remains present in the output HDMI signal with no apparent way to disable>Included SMPS adapter goes straight from mains to barrel jack - since it's only 5V @ 1A, a USB Type-B power input (+ Type-A to Type-B cable and associated brick) would be prove far more versatile

If it doesn't work, don't call customer support. Return instead!
If you are going to use this with a Roku 4K streaming stick, please look elsewhere. I have a Sony receiver with optical in and wanted to get 5.1 from my Roku since my TV does not support passthrough. I tried every variation of setting under the sun it seems and yet could only get stereo to pass through but never 5.1. when the output of the Roku was sent to 5.1 this splitter only passed through silence.I purchased this product 3 weeks and 2 days ago. I only know this because every other day I'm in contact with customer support and they have giving me the runaround for 3 weeks. I am stubborn, but my return window on Amazon is closing so this is a fight I don't think I'll win.

Working flawlessly for me
I'm only using this for HD video, nothing 4K in my system, but it works flawlessly. It's odd that they included a wall wart power supply, when a standard USB power cable (USB 2.0 Type A Male to DC 5.5 x 2.1mm DC 5V Power Barrel Plug Connector) works just fine, and frees up an electrical outlet. I already have a multi-outlet USB charger plugged in, ready to go.

Finally a solution!!!
I have had issues trying to get my firestick 4k to work with my projector and sound system. This converter extractor worked from the time I plugged everything in!!!! Only issue was that the power supply didn't have the "plug" so I could plug it into an outlet. I borrowed one from one of my other phone cords.

Need to reset it every time
It does what it’s supposed to do. But I have to reset the switch every time I start up my projector using a fire stick and a Bose speaker system. I’m not sure if it’s the products fault, but I have nowhere to go as far as any other procedure to make this work without having to flip the switch back-and-forth to get a connection
