Excelent quality, at an unbelievable price
Excelent photo printer, excelent value when purchasing through amazon. As some other reviews state, the set up process is not super simple, but the directions are clear, and once it is set up, the user interface is intuitive and effective. I would absolutely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a high quality at home photo printer. This printer can print any size photo you might want, from many devices. The Epson photo app, free through the App Store, allows you to print single photos or create and print collages directly from a smartphone. The scaning feature also exceeded my expectations, and makes this a very useful machine, at an excelent value.

Nice Little Printer
I like this little printer just fine. It was important to me that there were separate ink cartridges for each color so that when one runs out the others are not wasted which is how the new HP printers are these days. Big waste of money on ink. I prefer the quality of the printing of the comparable HP printer but HP does not offer the separate ink cartridges on a like printer. So this Epson works fine for the money. Extremely affordable.

Read other reviews before you read this one.
As an aside, the removable DVD tray was not included in the factory sealed box Amazon sent me, and there was none in the factory sealed box Epson sent to replace the first one after it proved defective out of the box. I didn't even realize this until just now after reading all the reviews; so, obviously, I didn't miss it.As for the paper printer part, it took me a while to get over the animosity the XP6000's awkward little interface generates. Every little action requires pressing up/down/sideways arrows and an OK button. I also learned to live with its overall flimsiness. It is, after all, a cheap printer that, now, costs less than its replacement ink. Still, it produced nice, vivid flawless prints . . . until it didn't. Suddenly prints were streaked and smudged, and ink cartridges were being depleted at a prodigious rate--one within less than 36 hours in which time I printed one 8"x8" photo. No amount of maintenance or tech support fixed the problems. Ultimately, the initial problems I was having seem to have dropped off their radar, and their focus shifted completely to one of the depleted cartridge. They even assigned a new case number. The final step required me to send tech support a photo of the error screen while they agreed to send me a replacement cartridge to verify that I've been using genuine Epson ink. It should arrive in 2 to 5 business days. Then I'm supposed to call them back. Pretty shabby way to handle a printer that is still under warranty. Sorry for the cynicism. I have no faith that another cartridge will fix all of the problems I'm having.

Great Features in a small Package
I purchased this printer with some reluctance due to the lack of information but was pleasantly surprise to find familiar features(full compatibility) as I had with my R260 Photo Printer. The compact size is nice and the front loading/printing trays are a little more convenient for my small office space needs but there were some difficult and confusing moments initially trying to get the sequence of operations worked out. The drawings were good but the text instructions were a little skimpy. The preliminary setup for print testing was straight forward and luckily the print tests looked good. One of my main interests in this printer is the CD/DVD printing since I had done years of disk printing with my Epson R260 and was concerned that it may have changed over time but I was relieved find that Epson uses the same application(Epson Print CD) for the XP-6000 and the file formats are compatible back to the middle 2000’s(.ec3, .ec4, etc). This enables me to print out any older labels that I had created 10 years ago. The quality of the paper printing is exceptional and the photo paper printing is impressive as always with Epson printers. I have yet to use the scanner and I used all hard wiring to connect to my PC but hope to test WiFi connectivity also. As a side note, having used a Epson R260 Photo printer for over 10 years with the increasing costs of the cartridges, I am happy to see the XP-6000 cartridges are much less in price, almost 35% less. This may not be a real workhorse of a printer but for the price and the features it is a whole lot of printer for the buck.

excellent scanning and printing
It was easy to set up for scanning and printing however, I had some difficulty in setting it up to print #10 envelopes. I discovered that my Microsoft Word settings for envelopes was not set to the proper feed configuration and it was also set to print from the wrong tray. remember to set Microsoft Word envelops for center feed and tray #2 and everything will work fine.

Ok with text, subpar with photos. Clunky touch screen.
I have an Epson XP-860 which I really like. It prints wonderful photos and decent text. But, it is not compatible with Apple's Airprint scheme which makes it a real pain to print from an ipad or phone. So, I picked up this XP-6000. The features, as written, seemed to be what I was looking for and the reviews are good in general. However, the photo print quality isn't nearly as good as the XP-860. The text printing is fine, so far. One of the most annoying things is the touch screen. It's difficult to see what's selected on the screen and you have to move the cursor around with the various keys on the keypad and not by actually touching the screen. It's very clunky. It seems like this could be quite a bit better in this price range.

Working great
My very big Canon hs had printing issues for quite a while - seems they really should have recalled or issued a new print head. So, broke down and looked for a new one. No matter what you get - and the printers are all pretty cheap, you get ripped on the ink down the road. This turned out to be a perfect size and I was able to re locate it downstairs where we do most printing anyway. Very quiet. Easy to hookup and get running. Software is pretty basic compared to what came with the Canon Pixma, but seems adequate. Havent gotten replacement inks yet, but will look for non oem first.

Cartridges Do Not Last.
Ive been printing for about 30 minutes before I have to replace the black cartridge already and the black is double the size of all the others. Overall, its a quiet and speedy printer, the paper only jammed once doing auto double sided but thats because the pages are wet which can be adjusted in the settings. I am happy with this printer but not happy with the ink cartridges as they should last longer than 30 minutes of straight printing, dont get me wrong, what i am printing has the whole page colored, which sucks but still, they should last longer than the 80 pages ive printed. So the black would probably last around 500 pages of document type printing. But what im printing are full black pages because of the background that i cant get rid of. Yup, 30 minutes in and im already needing to buy more. Also it doesn't print black and white if a single colored ink cartridge is empty. It's the most annoying thing ever.

Replacing ink extremely difficult and Many headaches
1. It prints nice quality photos2. Replacing an ink cartridge is really difficult. The printer tells you it doesn't recognize the cartridge. You pull it out and replace it the exact same way and keep getting an error message. Then suddenly after several times it suddenly works... why? No reason.3. When you have enough ink, it often cannot find the paper. You often must load and empty the paper tray several times. If you plan to print anything, this is not the printer for you.4. The photo quality was just as bad as my old MUCH CHEAPER canon printer.
