I need to supplement iodine because I eat a Whole Foods plant-based diet with no salt added, therefore no iodized salt, and no iodine. I choose these kelp tablets because they are a clean product and a great price. Plus they are the perfect amount of iodine for someone with no thyroid issues. I just got my annual lab results and everything came back perfect, including my thyroid. So these tablets appear to be working. I do chew them because I’m old and older people’s gastric acid tends to be low with poor digestion. They are hard but not too hard and taste rather pleasant to me.Of course these tablets aren’t responsible for my great lab results for cholesterol, etc. For that I give credit to Dr. Michael Gregor and his book “How Not to Die.”Thank you NOW Foods and Dr. Gregor. I used to be a mess. I save a ton of money by not having to buy prescription medications or go to doctors much.

I bought this because I thought I had hypothyroidism.When I took it I started to feel weird. Like sleepy, tired, increased anxiety, anhedonia, feeling of detachment, and overall just weird and hazy.After some research I realized it's definitely not wise to take things that messed with your thyroid.But this supplement is definitely not placebo because it clearly does something.So if you're like me and thinking of trying this for your hypothyroidism. Be careful. Also there's no return policy on this.There's no such thing as detox period or whatever the internet calls it. This definitely affects something so as soon as you feel weird I suggest you stop immediately. To continuously torture yourself and call it a detox period warrants a trip for a mental evaluation
