Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition (PS4)

Got it to play on PS5. A good game for an older title. Bargin price and every sim racer should have a copy

I've been playing racers for quite some time but on console nothing has ever been a true 'simulation' until Assetto Corsa. Play Gran Turismo Sport for a laugh, play Project Cars 2 for a wide selection of cars and tracks but play this for true racing immersion. Take your time when you first start up though, whilst being a fully qualified engineer isn't necessary it pays to read the advice on the setup screen. Take your selected car for a sighter and then set the thing up to suit your style. I'm by no means the worst online racer, usually lapping with the leaders but even with my limited knowledge of the mechanics I got lap times to drop further by playing with some setup tweaks. AC is very unforgiving so if you're picking this up expecting something akin to GT Sport you'll be disappointed. In one race I was threatening to take places but my over zealousness in an overtake that wasnt on cost me places. Concentration is key, dont let that put you off though, it sounds very serious but the sense of achievement at earning a 4th place after battling is immense. Seriously, this game isnt always about a victory, like real motorsport you'll be expected to respect the cars limits but by pushing to them a 4th can feel like victory. Assetto Corsa is the best and closest sim on console. Only PC does it better. Must buy for racing fans.

Ok game

After probably playing every racing game on the PS4 I have come to the conclusion that this is the best in terms of no nonsense sim racing with realistic physics. No it doesn’t quite have as good graphics as games like GT sport but it makes up for it in the way it draws you in to try harder and get better. It will seem a little hard to handle if you’re used to simcade racing games but stick with it as there’s more much more of a sense of achievement when you do well. I would advise adjusting the settings before you get going as it really makes a difference to how the cars behave. A quite google search will help you out. Great game.

If like me you think the more realistic the driving game the better, then absolutely forget GT Sport. It is not (as it claims to be) the real driving simulator. This is. The driving realism is far superior. AC is a true sim whereas GT Sport is Simcade. I played and was loyal to the Gran Turismo series for years to the point I didn’t even try other games apart from Dirt Rally and the F1 games. I was a fool. The is without question the undisputed King of console driving games. Challenging yes, but big challenge equals big reward. You will also have a permanent smile on your face driving super cars, race cars and road cars on circuits from around the world. Motorsport in real life is super expensive. By this game and a quality steering wheel instead! Happy Days!

I do like this game a lot, it's certainly more of a sim than gran turismo sport. If I have one thing that I don't like, is that the steering feels to light for my liking. I've done everything I can to try and make it stiffer, but it's at its full potential. I go through phases of playing some games for a while. After being on this game for a while, I decided to go on gt sport and I thought my wheel was stiffer than normal, but it was because I'd been on assetto corsa for a while. Apart from that it's the mutts nuts. The sound is mind blowing from some of the cars, especially when my soundbar is on. It doesn't take to kindly to my wife's ears, as she doesn't like the sound, but for me it's eargasmic!!

This is much better for me than GT7. You have a limited amount of cars to choose from here, but they are some great cars: Ferrari, Lambos, Vettes, Lotuses, Audis, and more. I really enjoy going around the Nürburgring Ring in Germany. There are so many race courses from different countries, it is hard to choose one. Of course having a steering wheel, brakes, and accelerator, makes the difference. It is very addictive, so I stay away from the game a week to ten days at a time, otherwise, I would always be driving, and getting nothing done.

It was at a great price. And ordering was made easy and secure most of all.. delivery was very prompt.
