I really like the big reinforced grommets and the digital pattern is super. It's somewhat lighter than the UST one I got, so it flexes better to put around you as a blanket and is a little lighter. Good that it comes with 4 stakes too. Every year in Vermont people freeze to death in the winter near their homes by falling or for some other reason. I think more people need to be aware of the danger of the cold. This is a lot sturdier than those super thin mylar blankets. I wish we'd had these when I was working on the first air squad for people in car accidents.

Nice quality tarp that packs up small, and would be a good extra tarp for sun shade or wind cover on for an event or camping trip. The emergency blanket is definitely a nice added feature.

I saw a couple of reviews that this is a sub par emergency blanket/tarp. They must have this confused with some other product because this thing is almost bulletproof. Very thick good for ground tarp. Waterproof, and with the aluminum coating on one side will reflect heat like crazy. Either from your body if using as a blanket or a fire reflector from a campfire. One reviewer said it makes noise like butcher paper. Well no it’s does not. It’s like 6 times thicker than butcher paper and sounds like it 10 times thicker than butcher paper! That’s a good thing because butcher paper won’t help protect you from the elements. This is a good emergency/ weekend outing blanket/ tarp. Well worth the money. I highly recommend it.

Smaller than I expected.. I’m still not sure if I just read the size incorrectly or why I was expecting it to be larger. I almost sent it back!I purchased this to use as an additional layer of warmth for colder weather tent camping. The night time temps dropped to about 40F. We prefer cots, pillows and blankets opposed to sleeping bags. This was placed between the sheet, comforter and additional blanket to help retain the body heat for my 10yo and myself. It worked perfectly! We were very comfortable all night long. The only complaint is that it crinkles LOUDLY. So much so, our close tent neighbors thought there was a critter in the trash buuuut it was only us with our crinkly comfort!The second night was a warmer so I just hung it on the side (inside) of the tent next to our sleeping area to just reflect the warmth inside.. aside from the small size and the loud crinkle it works perfectly

I’ve used many “emergency blankets” over the years for a variety of uses. None of them hold up much more than a few real world uses. This is blanket is different. After it arrived I took it out for an overnight bivouac when the temperature was just above freezing. I used it as my ground tarp silver side up. It’s thicker material so it’s doesn’t wrap around and cling to objects but that’s okay. It’s a new ‘tool’ that can make a waterproof lean-to/tent that also reflects back body heat the heat from the campfire. It’s large enough to fold in half to lay on one side and pull the other side over over. I’m 5’10” and there’s room to spare. I will discover more uses as I go. It won’t fit into the ultralight category but still carried because it can be used as a multipurpose item.

Used for a tent footprint. My tent is a few inches longer but this does the job of keeping the underside of my tent undamaged. Good quality and rolls up with my tent without taking up any extra space in the bag. Would recommend for small 2-3 person tents.

Mylar Orange Version:So this is the 5 layer version - looks a little different in outer orange texture and silver liner as it has different material. It is fairly stiff and heavier by about 125 g - Weighs 625g with the adequate long shepherds hook type ground stakes. Sadly there is no nylon storage case with this and we are using heavy duty elastic bands to keep tightly rolled.We required a heat reflective camping protector 'mat' to go under a thin tent groundsheet. The price was just £17.27 which is remarkable for quality mylar material with a reflective surface. The area around the grommets is protected, and there is a seam around the complete mat The mat will be 100% waterproof - the downside of course is the condensation will be considerable , so a wipe down with a sponge or cloth or chamois leather will capture. most of this water beading.Over time the stiffness will mean the material gets easier to fold and roll, you might even get wear, material 'crackling' along the folds, and certainly, the lighter 3-ply will be easier to manage although not as durable.If this had been in Green Mylar would have purchased - however, if you want to attract attention - you will not be missed in an Emergency with this very bright iridescent orange mat.
