Excellent quality anti viral supplement
I have been taking this brand for a few months now and I am very pleased. Compared to others I have tried the beautiful purple color and pungent ocean smell is a good show of quality. This type of algae is used in eastern medicine as an anti viral and immune booster and I found that this brand has also worked really well for herpes viruses and have also kept all other viruses away while taking it. Also like the pouch instead of bottle, as I don't buy supplements in plastic bottles and it's cost effective.

I have no idea what benefit this has and it smells pretty bad
This might be ok for some people, but for me, the smell was too much. The product seems like it's high quality but I didn't notice any benefit and the smell was too much for me.

Works great
Seems like it is doing what it's supposed too. It does have a little bit of a fishy/marine taste but I mix it in with my supergreens or superbeets & can't taste it at all.

Wish it had 3rd party certification
I have recently learned about the benefits of red algae, so I was very happy to see this available! The pills smell very much as expected, but have no unpleasant side effects (no aftertaste or burping). It is too soon to notice any benefits, but the pills are easy to take, and are a great source of Omega 3s. I hope they contain what they claim, and wish they had 3rd party certification to confirm, but I am willing to believe them for as long as this container lasts.

Good for overall health
Red algae seaweed is a good source of minerals and trace elements and nutrients with antioxidant properties such as polyphonols. I especially like the offering of a powder rather than capsules. It appears to be good quality. I was following the original product directions and taking 1/10 tsp (actually a scant 1/8th) for 2 days on, 5 days off. The seller's packaging directions has changed since my order. Same cycling schedule but dosage is 1/5 tsp (1g) daily. It's interesting the seller recommends cycling the red marine algae powder since it is not an adaptogen. But I do think cycling antioxidants is a good idea. Supplements are there to help, not do what our bodies should be doing naturally. With all the marketing hype, we tend to take too many antioxidants which in turn may interfere with important cellular functions such as our bodies' defense mechanisms and normal cellular signaling.Overall, I really like this red marine algae powder. It dissolves readily in a glass of V8 and doesn't affect the taste. For an overview of red marine algae:DrAxe: "Red Algae Benefits: What You Need to Know About Red Marine Algae"You'll also find more product info on the holistbin website.

Red Algae Powder
This red marine algae powder by Holistic Bin is a very interesting product. I've heard many great things about red marine algae and although I'm on week 3 of daily supplementation, I have not experienced any changes. This is not remotely discouraging as it can take months to see improvements from any supplement. The smell is predictably of the sea, and my personal experience is that it smells worse than it tastes, but I've been able to successfully incorporate the powder into smoothies where it is almost completely unidentifiable. One thing that would make me feel better about this powder is some type of lab result confirming what is inside the package. I visited the website, and although I learned a lot about their mission, their sustainable approach (which inspires their recycled rice paper packaging), and even useful information about the algae itself, I did not find any further analysis of the product. To address the concerns of some, it seems to be normal for red algae to appear brown, although I'm admittedly no expert. In any case, I think Holistic Bin has great offerings and they're a small family business, so I look forward to trying more of what they have in stock.

Not sure if I trust these
The ingredients are listed as just two types of red marine algae, but they are in capsule form and nothing is listed for the capsule.
