One hell of a sharpener!
Works perfect! One corner of one side has lifted a bit so I am concerned it will continue lifting until it falls off? It seems to be a plate glued in place, so it's a little less sturdy built than I prefer.Four sides grit seems to be holding up well. I have sharpened all of my kitchen utensils, all of my pocket knives, two machetes, and even a few cutting tools from the garage so far. This thing eats cheap steel, but you can take good steel and bring it to a razor's edge, and I very much like that!Power for price, this is a STEAL!

A must-have for the wilderling
The four grades of abrasion are ideal fot every phase of sharpening.

Works good, but...
The grit labels are hard to read. The block is hard to remove from the holder. I think I like Harbor Freight's version better.

Beast cheap sharpener.
I've been using this style of sharpener for years. I like that in 5 minutes (if you're a prep cook and you've been doing it for years anyway) you can put a new edge on a cheap chef knife. I use the $20 dollar chef knives at work and they only hold an edge for about a day, given that many cooks and prep cooks are using and abusing them. The thing to know about these sharpeners is that they take metal off the blade at an alarming rate. They can take an edge off the blade as fast as they can put one on if you don't keep the same angle. For a nice (expensive) knife you're going to want to take more time with it. For finishing touches on a nice knife, you're going to want to use something else. If your nice knife has some nicks in it though, or if you need to reshape the tip, this thing is excellent and with time and practice, you can get a precise edge back on your knife, then move on to a 1000 or even 3000 grit stone to make it factory or even better than factory sharp. It's especially good at rescuing old thrift shop knives. If you use this sharpener for a few years on a great many knives, it's going to lose a lot of the grit. This isn't a bad thing, given the price. I still use my old one after I've used the new one. The 600 grit side of the old one is more like 1000 by now.

Will get it sharp
Good product. Would be nice if the runner grips held better but this sharpener will produce a sharp enough to shave edge on any knife capable of such an edge, you just have to have the patients to do it.

Good sharpener
For the money it is a great value. Works as well as the person running it. You have to control the angle.
