I upgraded to the Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro, and it’s honestly miles ahead of my previous model. The head-to-toe view is a game-changer. I can see deliveries right on the doorstep without missing anything. The 3D motion detection is incredibly accurate, only alerting me when someone actually approaches, not when cars drive by. Installation was straightforward with clear instructions, and connecting to Wi-Fi took seconds. The colour night vision is impressive, faces are sharp even in low light. I feel much more secure knowing I can check in anytime from my phone. Fantastic device and totally worth every penny

This model gives a much larger scope of view. I can see right down to the door mat now, whereas with my 'Video Doorbell 3 Plus' I couldn't. Although the image is bright, I'm not convinced about clarity in comparison. The contrast is quite high and I think faces appear a little darker (like in the shadows). I think anything minor is still a good trade off to be able to have a much larger viewing area. I purchased at a good Black Friday price, otherwise I would have thought twice. If you want to see what's on the floor by the door, this is actually a great Video Doorbell, otherwise I'd say buy the Video Doorbell 3 Plus.

This Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro is extremely useful for seeing who’s at your door. The video quality is excellent, and the head-to-toe view really helps to identify visitors clearly. It’s great for security and gives peace of mind, especially when you’re not at home. That said, be aware that to access all the features, you do need a subscription. Without it, many of the advanced features are limited. We pay about £95 per year for the subscription, so it’s important to factor that into your decision before buying. Another issue I’ve noticed is that sometimes it doesn’t catch people leaving the property, even when the settings are at the highest sensitivity. This can be a little frustrating, but overall it does a solid job for incoming visitors. Overall, it’s a very practical device that makes home security easier, but just be prepared for the ongoing cost and occasional blind spots. Still a solid 4 stars.

Yes, it’s pricier than entry-level models, but the performance, reliability, and smart features make it a fantastic investment in home security. Highly recommended if you want a professional-grade doorbell camera that blends seamlessly into your smart home setup.

It would be fair to say that my original review (see below) was not particularly complementary, but now, after what I can only describe as truly superb customer service I wish to amend my review. After commenting on the poor performance of the ring door bell, Jakob from Ring customer services got in touch via email offering advice and suggestions to improve my units performance, it has taken us a short while, but I can now report that my Ring door bell is working as it should and providing exceptional results, giving me peace of mind with notifying me of any one entering our property. It is a shame that one can only give five stars because the level of dedicated, professional customer service demonstrated deserves a far higher rating. My previous review: “I seriously regret this purchase, when it does work, the time it takes to notify me that someone is on my property is far too long, (I have a full fibre internet connection- so it’s not my internet speed). Visitors have usually been and gone before I am notified. In addition it often fails to even register that people are arriving - today for example we have had four visitors and yet none were identified. The whole point of the product is security but it fails spectacularly.”
