Well built and sharp
Seems good so far. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet, though. It's comfortable to hold and feels really solid. The blade seems nice and sharp too. It's heavy for its size, which I think is both good and bad. Sure, it's extra weight to carry, but on the plus side it's solid, thick metal and should hold up for a long time. I think the weight will make chopping easier too. Can't wait to try it!

Almost perfect
The hatchet/mini axe itself is excellent quality, we are very happy with it! It's full tang so we don't have to worry about weak points or the head splitting from the handle. Rubber grin is perfect and covers a good amount of the handle for comfort. We tested it out on some tree limbs and it did an excellent job of chopping and splitting, perfect for it's size and hubby says it's plenty sharp! The downside: hubby was attaching it to his belt to see how that functionality is, when one of the grommets from the axe head case popped off. We tried to get it back on but it won't. The case is sewn so it's not like the head will slip out immediately, but I suppose the grommet is meant to be an insurance in case the seams split, so deciding whether to keep it as is or exchange it for one with all the grommets, we already like it so much don't even want to have to exchange but probably should. Other than the grommet issue, this is excellent quality and great value for the money!

Good quality hatchet.
Great hatchet! Needs to be sharpened out of the box but feels good in the hand. Easy to use for splitting small logs at the campfire and clearing small brush. Really like the sheath as well!

Best Bang for the Buck
Full steel tang. Comfortable rubber handle. Nicely fitted protective cover. Sharp- not the cleanest edge- obviously beveled/sharpened by hand- fine by me- it's sharp. Good amount of heft- perfect for what I wanted, a cheap but durable hatchet for cutting fire starter- we call it fat lighter. Recommended.

Good purchase.
Bought it to chop branches. It works well for that. Good quality. Just the right length and weight. So far it has held an edge well enough. Pleased with this purchase.

Best bang for the buck
It does every well, especially considering the cost. Handle is comfortable, and the sheath is usable. The steel is not high end, but pretty good. If you want something that just works and don't want to spend a lot, this is it !

Compact, lightweight hatchet - perfect for camping, trail work, or wood-splitting finisher.
This hatchet comes with both a silicone tip guard and a leather snap-closure holster, though both aren't used at the same time. It's lightweight, well-constructed and sharp! I used it to free a couple of hunting arrows from wood chunks they'd been embedded into, and it performed that task easily, even though the wood chunks were older, and substantially harder than fresh green wood might be. The grip is great - not something that will slip out of your hand or glove easily. The holster is a very snug fit, and while it's easy to remove the hatchet from the holster (one snap, one Velcro) --- in brand-new condition it was a bit tougher to get the hatchet back into the holster and close the snap around it than I anticipated. It might get easier over time as the holster stretches out a little, but I also appreciate the snug fit, so maybe it's just me!! I used it a couple times to finish up some split wood pieces that were dangling by a few wood strands, and it easily cut through those - plus the narrow construction lets it get in between almost-split wood chunks quite easily. I meant to try splitting some kindling (resting a wood piece on its sharp edge, then striking the other end of the wood piece with a hammer) but didn't do that before writing this up.... A nice addition overall to my tool roster, and far, far better than the retail-name hatchet I've carried in my motorhome for multiple years, so it'll be on the road with me next time I'm mobile!
