Works well and easy to set up.

Easy to set up, good range and good speed. Hope it proves to be reliable!I’m using it as a wireless access point.Update: the Ethernet port hangs every 24 hrs or so but the wifi stays up. Cycling the power resets it and all is well for a while. The blue light remains solid the whole time.Unable to find support details so will be returning it but will order another and hope it is an isolated event.Shame, it works really well….

Great Access Point

I bought this as a wired access point to increase Wi-Fi coverage to the upstairs of my house, and it works far better than I expected. On my upstairs landing I have a CAT6 ethernet port which is hard-wired all the way back to my main router. The port is next to a plug socket so I was able to plug the BrosTrend access point directly into the socket and run a short ethernet cable between the access point and the port.Set up for the access point function was really easy, with a very clear instruction leaflet provided. There is also a QR code you can use, but I didn't need it as the instructions were easy to follow.I've been using it for 2 weeks now and have had no problems. My Wi-Fi speeds upstairs were 25-40Mbps before installing the access point, but now it's the full 140Mbps that my ISP package gives me. I continue to get these speeds when I'm downstairs too, so it actually has better Wi-Fi coverage than my Virgin Media router. The access point has two bands, 2.4G and 5G. Both work fine with the same output across both bands. There are other functionalities to the product, but I have only used it as an access point so can't comment on them. Some comments I read here on Amazon prior to purchasing mentioned that it can get hot. Consequently, I check it most days and haven't noticed it being hot. It's ever so slightly warm, but no warmer than most plugs. Additionally, some comments mentioned that it takes up too much space on a double socket. I don't find this to be the case as I have a standard 13A plug plugged in next to it and there is room for both.I've been very impressed with the product as it has delivered beyond what I was expecting of it.

Works great but runs hot

Easy to get running, 2.4g and 5g faultless, fast and the range seems pretty good. The unit looks good too!My only downside I was pretty surprised at how hot it runs. The front of the unit is quite warm verging hot to touch, so I don’t know what the power consumption of these units are.

It works, simple to set up

Tried lots of others including TP-Link, none worked but this does. I now have a strong Wi-Fi signal in an outbuilding. Speedy delivery, reasonable price

Once set up, it works well with a good range, but ....

The single sheet Quick Setup Guide is hopelessly poor and inadequate and it even assumes a local IP 192.168.0.x address range, which may not be true. Also the model is missing in the online support pages. So here is advice for setup, at least for AP (Access Point) mode. The Quick Setup Guide may work with some routers, but not all. And if it doesn't then setup requires some serious techno-expertise. Login to the router and enable an IP routed subnet on the LAN. This is usually done with a tick box, plus adjustment to choice of other parameters. Ignore the quick setup guide, plug in the device to the power and LAN and allow it to choose two DCHP IP addresses. Find these newly chosen addresses from the router's IP table. One is for login, and presumably the other is for routed clients. Try each with a browser using an IP address (eg 192.168.1.31) directly in the address bar as per the Quick Setup Guide. When the login page appears, set the username and password and continue as per the guide. Now it works!Subsequent login can be done with the same login IP. But bearing in mind a DCHP address is on a time lease, it could change. So it is wise to fix the address by manual assignment and/or bind the IP address to the Media Access Code (MAC) of the device. Then, for subsequent login, a name can be chosen for the login IP and assigned in the local DNS (Domain Name System) or recorded in a computer's "hosts" table.Good luck!. Having made it this far, everything beyond is intuitively easy.Even after setup, with no connected clients, the device opens and closes a web address (port 80) every few seconds. This appears benign, but why it should wish to do it is a mystery. This creates unwanted Internet traffic and fills up router logs. Some manual action could be considered using the router firewall to at least suppress the logging.

Very slow Internet extender

This item I’ve bought It works, but it’s not giving me the same Internet speed as my router when I plug an Internet cable into it it still gets me less speed .

Absolutely Perfect

Easy setup, Using a 30m Cat8 cable to have it as an access point across the house, getting better wifi speed here than where the router is!Absolute steal for the cost, it performs amazing when put somewhere a bit more open, it is also quite larger than expected, much better than any other extenders i’ve tried

Easy to set up and faster than BT router

Very easy to set up and the wifi connection (if you use it as an access point) is faster than connecting to the BT router directly. Although i bought it to cover the top floor that is far from the router and the speed was low, i have now connected most devices to the access point rather than the BT router
