If you have sensory issues, want a traditional feel and need a protector this is your product!
To keep it short and sweet, this is the best screen protector I have ever had for my Ipad. Main points and concerns: - Texture is perfect! - Does not scratch easily or leave fingerprints. (If you have made scratches you are likely applying too much pressure). - Friction is super realistic to paper! Jitter and slippery-ness from using the ipad is GONE. - Does cover the front facing camera but I believe it is worth using despite this. - Tips are extremely precise and feel like a ballpoint pen/mechanical pencil. - Very easy to apply! - A little fuzzy, but not noticeable when playing games, reading or watching videos. - Perfect fit and thickness. - Lovely overall product! In depth review: I have ASD and texture is really significant to me, moreover, the texture on this is satisfying. I feel very comfortable touching it and resting my wrist on it with and without drawing glove. It does look a little fuzzy on the screen but it is not noticeable for watching videos or playing games. The friction that you feel on it feels very realistic to paper. The usual jitter and slippery-ness that comes with drawing on an ipad is completely obliterated with this product. I have seen other reviews that mention the tips scratching the protector easily as well as fingerprints collecting easily, however, I disagree with this. I think that you have to be exerting a lot of pressure on it to get that result. The only negative opinion I have on this, is that the location of my camera on my ipad is blocked by the protector, but it is completely worth ignoring this for the other benefits of using it. 10/10 Would recommend to all artists looking for a more traditional feeling that you are used to.

The best drawing screen protector out right now!
This is my second Rock Paper Pencil screen protector and after trying a couple others, this one is by far my favorite. The feeling is similar to writing on paper with a ball point pen. It provides a little more of a tactical feel without being too rough or having too much pencil resistance. The fact that it’s easily removable is the biggest selling point. No bubbles, easy installation with unlimited retries if it’s not aligned right, and when I’m not drawing I can take it off to have my normal iPad screen back. A little on the pricier side but well worth it for the versatility, quality, and total package value. Just get yourself one you won’t regret it.

Excellent product, even better customer service
Tl;dr put it on easily, got a pen tip that scratched, but the second tip provided was fine. Astropad customer service is sending me a replacement for free. Easy to apply, feels like pen on paper, and doesn't effect visibility or pressure sensitivity for apple pencil. I ordered this after trying paperlike and finding it difficult to put it on without bubbles. I stumbled upon astropad after trying to find alternatives to paperlike and wanted to give it a try. The application was simple, amd after cleaning ny ipad screen, it went on smoothly and easily. I put on one of the pen tips provided amd started doing some basic up and down strokes and it scratched and snagged. I was seriously disappointed that I'd already ruined my product without even using it for it's intended purpose!! I then used the second pen tip provided, and it glided across the screen protector like butter. It would seem the first tip was defective. I immediately wrote to Astropad customer service telling them what happened. Within 24 hours, they wrote back a personal message apologizing for the mishap, gathered my information, and are sending a replacement at no cost to me. Please consider this product if you're interested in the pen on paper feel with a removable screen. Other than the initial incident, I've had no trouble with it, and the sensitivity, precision, and visibility is pristine. Overall great product and I will be telling others about it!

Doesn’t fit with a case
I like that it was easy to install. The protector itself was well made, it had magnets all around the edges, I could see through it just fine, and it provided a nice paper feel to my iPad. I was disappointed that it did not adhere properly with my case. The case caused it to bubble up in areas, which causes issues when I wrote. I returned it.

The Rock Paper Pencil 2 screen protector is a game-changer for note-taking and drawing on the iPad.
The Rock Paper Pencil 2 screen protector is a game-changer for note-taking and drawing on the iPad. The combination of the screen protector and the included pencil tip creates a remarkably authentic paper-like writing experience that surpasses other similar products due to its easy removability. My handwriting has improved significantly, and I now prefer taking notes on my iPad to traditional pen and paper. The ability to change pen types and have an infinite canvas is a huge bonus. The screen protector provides the perfect amount of friction, making writing smooth and effortless. However, it’s essential to understand the trade-offs. The matte finish noticeably impacts image and video quality, giving the screen a heavier look. Additionally, the protector tends to attract dust and fingerprints, although it’s easily cleaned and can be removed and reapplied for those times when you want to enjoy the iPad's full display capabilities. The included Apple Pencil tip is exceptional, further enhancing the writing experience. The ability to easily remove and reapply the screen protector offers unparalleled flexibility compared to other paper-like options. Despite these minor drawbacks, I highly recommend the Rock Paper Pencil 2 for anyone who spends a significant amount of time writing or drawing on their iPad. It's a fantastic product that delivers on its promises.

Like my 2nd marriage - it was great while it lasted...until the last month.
I used the Rock, Paper, Pencil for three months before it reached the end of its life. Let's start with the Pros, because they are pretty pro. - The texture is awesome. - The metal nibs have a beautiful feel and sound on the matte protector. - It's REMOVABLE! So you can still enjoy your iPad in full sunlight, just not with the RPP attached. I really, really loved everything about the RPP for the first month. Then the cons started to rear their ugly heads...first as minor annoyances, then...well...you'll see: - The metal nib wore out! And it caused a sharp edge to develop, which put the first scratch on the protector after a month of heavy use. No biggie, it's just one scratch. Replace the nib and order more... - The 2nd nib wore out in much less time, possibly because of existing micro-scratches on the protector doing more damage to the nib? I'm not sure. Nib #2 wore out and started scratching in about 2 weeks. - I'd remove the screen protector once every 1-2 weeks...so not a ton. Every time I removed it, it seemed to collect dust and adhere to the screen a bit less than before. I tried gently cleaning it with water, which did nothing, so I tried rubbing alcohol, which seemed to work, but the "adhesive" stopped sticking after 3 months. Since I have a very nice case, I'm currently using my iPad without a screen protector. It's terrifying, but it's more useable without a screen protector at the moment. I loved this product at first. It was amazing. It felt great. It did what it was supposed to do and delivered on its promises. But as our relationship continued, it turned sour. Promises were broken, performance was sub-par, I was left looking at an empty husk of what once was, remembering the good times as just that -- memories.

WORLDS better than the paperlike
i’ve tried 3 paper “like” screen protectors for my new ipad and this is by FAR the best one i’ve tried. the first one was from the ESR brand and it made my 2,000$ ipad look SUPER grainy so that one was an immediate no. Then, i went for the Paeike because they somewhat pioneered the paper feel screen protector space. I had that one on my ipad for about a week but i had a few gripes, the biggest two being the installation process and the amount of bubbles. Now, it very well could’ve been user error but for a 50$ screen protector i feel that it should’ve come with an application device of sorts. then, i ordered this one and i just got it today and OH MY GOD ITS AMAZING. For starters, it has a far superior paper feel than either of the ones i trekked previously AND it’s magnetic so i don’t need to worry about bubbles! it was super easy to install i just cleaned my screen and put it on and voila! An added bonus is the metal apple pencil tips, i’ve been testing out another brands but they don’t come anywhere close to the ones that came with this screen protector, it really feels like im writing with a pen and i LOVE IT. i cannot say enough good things about this screen protector!

Scratches Easily and Traps Dirt
Outcome: Not worth the price. Pros: - easy to install - feels great Cons: - traps dirt - interferes with iPad wake/sleep feature - scratches easily - doesn't work with all iPad cases When I first got this, I LOVED it. It felt so nice and was super easy to put on my iPad. Right out of the gate, though, I noticed it wouldn't work with the case I had. The case bunched the sides of it so the magnetic edges couldn't properly adhere to the screen. This created a weird parallax with the screen near the edges and made drawing difficult, but because I loved the feeling of it so much, I decided to get a new case. The new case worked great with the screen protector, no more issues on that front. Then I noticed some dirt constantly getting underneath the protector. Just enough that it looks like a dead pixel on my iPad, so I have to clean it once a week, which is quite cumbersome and annoying. Because of the magnets, my iPad doesn't always turn on when I open the case or even when I click the wake button. I understand this is a feature of iPads so they stay dormant when the case cover is closed and you can turn it off in your settings. However, this feels like a bit of an oversight in design. I removed the film and had no such issues with it off. Lastly, and this one is a HUGE one for me, it scratches EASILY. I felt like the tips they provide you look a bit sharp, but figured if they sent it out as part of the product, it should be fine. About 6 months later, I'm seeing these little smudges on the film that I initially thought could be more dirt or something from my fingers. Nope, it's scratches in the film made by the pencil tip. When you're drawing, the pencil will sometimes catch in these scratches and let me tell you it is the closest experiences you can get to raking fingernails on a chalkboard without literally doing it. That sensory feeling, which happens frequently enough to set your teeth on edge, is more than enough for me to say that the price of this is not worth it for me.
