**MONDAY Zero Alcohol Gin - Non-Alcoholic Spirit** As someone who enjoys the ritual of a well-crafted cocktail but is looking to reduce alcohol intake, I was intrigued by MONDAY Zero Alcohol Gin. This non-alcoholic spirit promised the flavor and complexity of traditional gin without the alcohol, making it an appealing option for both casual sipping and cocktail mixing. **What I Like:** - **Flavor Profile**: MONDAY Zero Alcohol Gin does a commendable job of mimicking the botanicals typically found in traditional gin. The juniper, citrus, and other herbal notes are present, offering a familiar taste that works well in gin-based cocktails. It provides the complexity I’m used to in a gin, making it a satisfying alternative when I want to skip the alcohol. - **Versatility in Cocktails**: This non-alcoholic gin is versatile enough to be used in a variety of cocktails, from a classic gin and tonic to more elaborate mixed drinks. It holds up well when combined with mixers, bitters, and garnishes, delivering a cocktail experience that’s close to the real thing. - **Health Conscious Choice**: For those who are looking to reduce alcohol consumption for health reasons or who are simply looking for a mindful drinking option, MONDAY Gin offers a great alternative. It’s sugar-free, calorie-free, and of course, alcohol-free, which allows you to enjoy your favorite drinks without the negative effects of alcohol. - **Beautiful Packaging**: The bottle design is sleek and attractive, making it a great addition to any bar cart. The packaging adds to the experience, making it feel like a premium product despite being non-alcoholic. **What I Don’t Like:** - **Mouthfeel**: While the flavor is well-executed, the mouthfeel doesn’t quite match that of traditional gin. There’s a certain weight and warmth that alcohol provides, which is missing here. It’s not a major issue, but it’s something you notice if you’re used to the texture of real spirits. - **Price**: MONDAY Gin is relatively expensive, especially considering it doesn’t contain alcohol. While I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into creating a non-alcoholic spirit, the cost might be a deterrent for some, particularly if you’re buying it regularly. - **Lacks the Kick of Alcohol**: This might seem obvious, but if you’re looking for the full experience of drinking gin, including the slight burn or warmth that alcohol provides, this won’t deliver that. It’s an excellent substitute for flavor, but it doesn’t replicate the physical sensation of drinking an alcoholic beverage. **Bottom Line:** MONDAY Zero Alcohol Gin is a well-crafted, flavorful alternative to traditional gin, making it an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy cocktails without the alcohol. Its strong botanical flavors, versatility in cocktails, and health-conscious profile make it a standout in the growing market of non-alcoholic spirits. While it’s a bit pricey and lacks the full mouthfeel of alcoholic gin, the overall experience it provides makes it a worthwhile addition to any home bar, especially for those who want to enjoy the ritual of cocktail making without the alcohol. If you’re exploring non-alcoholic options, MONDAY Gin is definitely worth a try.

I REALLY wanted to love this zero alcohol gin, but my unvarnished opinion is that it is absolutely horrible. I truly wouldn’t give it any stars. The only good thing about it is the packaging and the bottle and the label. The first thing I noticed, is that it is cloudy in the bottle...I thought, well, okay, this isn’t gin. Then, I opened it and smelled it...it did not have that classic juniper piney smell of gin, it didn’t t have much smell at all, once again, I thought, okay, this isn’t gin, then I tasted it straight out of the bottle and I was SO UNDERWHELMED. The first taste to me was “watery”....then a very slight ghostly hint of the classic juniper taste of gin....I had to really struggle to appreciate any juniper notes and the finish was the taste of black pepper. At this point, I was skeptical if it would even stand up with a mixer, but my friends and I made several different drinks using it. Straight gin and tonic tasted mostly of tonic, and the lemon we squeezed into it. The gin flavor was lost. Then we made one with Fevertree lemon tonic, a splash of regular tonic and a squeeze of lemon...once again, we could only haste the tonic and lemon. Then we tried a ginger beer...same results. So, for 40.00$ per bottle, I really feel that this just not worth the coin. This company needs to go back to the drawing board and do some serious tweaking. We ended up pouring out the rest of the “gin” and keeping the bottle, because my friend wants to use it as a flower holder centerpiece at a table in her wedding. I appreciate the attempt of zero alcohol gin, but this one really misses the mark. I’m so disappointed. The company is great with communication and linking gin drink recipes. So, they seem to be really cool.

I’m a regular gin drinker, and Monday is as close to the real thing as I’ve ever found in a non‑alcoholic option. I went alcohol‑free for three months during a metabolic reset and never told anyone—Monday became my go‑to when I socialized. My recipe was => 2 Ounces of Monday, 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice, top the short glass with diet tonic and a lime wedge. The true test came when I had friends over. They asked what I was making, and I casually said “gin and tonic.” I never mentioned it was non‑alcoholic, and not one person noticed the difference. That’s when I knew Monday had nailed it. Even now, I still reach for Monday when I want to skip the alcohol but still enjoy a sophisticated drink. If you love gin and want a convincing, flavorful alternative, I highly recommend giving this a try.

Update: After some time (and becoming pregnant so no more real gin) I have learned how to drink this stuff. The problem with my first drink, and reason for the negative review, was I poured it like I would pour gin. If you do that... you will hate it haha I tried it again only pouring a SMALL amount in the glass and it’s pretty good. Last night I had some with a cara cara orange wedge and citrus tonic and it was fantastic. The juniper comes through and you can really enjoy it, but of course it will never be real gin haha Previous Review: I was so excited for this product! I'm putting together a gin bar for an event and I loved the idea that everyone could enjoy putting together a delicious gin and tonic even if they didn't want to or couldn't drink alcohol. It was well packaged when it arrived and the bottle design was beautiful, it would have looked great at the bar! But the flavor was just not for me at all. I'm not a fancy gin drinker but I do love all types of gin and experimenting with different tonics and garnishes but there was just no redeeming this drink. The juniper was so aggressive it just tasted very intensely like pine and nothing else. It totally overpowered the mixer and was just not enjoyable. I had a friend over who also enjoys all types of gin and tonic herself and we both really disliked it. It seems some people really love it, and I wish it was me, but it wasn't.

I wanted to try some new mocktails to enjoy during dry January, and to help reduce my alcohol intake overall during the rest of the year. Amazon recommended this to me when I came to reorder the Bakto Flavors gin essence, and I had never heard of alcohol-free spirits, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was especially excited because gin is my favorite liquor, and most mocktails are sweeter than I like. The very best part of this product is the presentation. It is gorgeous. Unboxing it definitely felt like opening a high-end spirit, and the bottle would look great on any bar shelf. The flavor itself, though, is just fine. As the manufacturer and other reviewers have noted, this is intended for mixing. It does NOT taste good straight or over ice, so don't even try. When I sniffed the bottle, it smelled like gin, but the flavor reads as more pine than juniper. I drank it with seltzer and fresh lime juice, and it was interesting, but not really my thing. It might work better with tonic water, but I'm not a fan of the quinine flavor. I do plan to try it with some grapefruit and will report back if that pairs better. I didn't love the "bite" - it was more spicy than astringent, but it did produce that warm feeling in my stomach by the end of the glass, which was nice. If spicy food doesn't agree with your stomach, though, you might want to skip this. As it is, I like it enough that I will probably finish the bottle, but since it's not the flavor I was looking or, and the price is comparable to actual gin, I won't order it again. I might try other brands, or Monday's other flavors, but most likely, I'll just fall back on the Bakto flavoring. I do recommend trying this if you like a strongly piney profile and the ritual of pouring a cocktail from a beautiful bottle is worth this price. And I hope that Monday and other brands will keep working on their formulations. This wasn't quite right for me, but the genre has a lot of promise.
