From the Publisher Review: Amazing! - Oh this is one of my Favorites of Frieda McFadden's books! Easily slides into my top next to The Housemaid. I loved the two storylines & the twists! I did end up wanting to hear a bit more from Tom at the end but nevertheless it finished well! I read 60% of this book in one sitting, staying awake until 3AM because it pulled me in. Review: Twisty read ! - ‘24 - 4 STARS DESCRIPTION : She's looking for the perfect man. He's looking for the perfect victim. Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She's seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. Until she meets Tom. Tom is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman―the latest in a string of deaths across the coast―confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them. Sydney should feel safe. After all, she has Tom, the man of her dreams. But she can't shake her own suspicions that the perfect man may not be as perfect as he seems. Because someone is watching her every move, and if she doesn't get to the truth, she'll be the killer's next victim. A dark story about obsession and the things we'll do for love. REVIEW : New author for me in late 2022 and I’ve read 11 books so far by this “quick-read” author. The Housemaid is Watching ‘24 - 4 Stars), The Teacher (‘24 - 3 Stars), The CoWorker (‘23 - 3 Stars), One by One (‘20 - Read ‘23 - 4 Stars), The Perfect Son (‘19 - Read ‘23 - 4 Stars), Ward D (‘23 - 5 Stars), The Housemaid’s Secret (‘23 - 5 Stars), The Inmate (‘22 - 3 Stars) and The Housemaid (‘22 - 5 Stars) and Never Lie (‘22 - 4 Stars). Story jumps right-in and has be guessing who “Tom” is in the before n after chapters. Very interesting and fast paced. Kept my mind active the entire story to the very end. Twisty.

Every single girl’s worst nightmare!
As if dating in your 20s and 30s wasn't hard enough, Freida McFadden goes and writes this! I was hooked from the first page. Sydney is such a relatable protagonist, and the mystery of "The Boyfriend" kept me guessing until the very end. I suspected everyone—the ex, the new guy, even the neighbors. The twist was classic Freida; I didn’t see it coming at all. If you want a thriller that makes you want to delete your dating apps immediately, this is it!

The main character was very annoying but the ending was unexpected. One thing about my Freida is she’s gunna give us a plot twist!!

An Addictive Ride
I couldn't put this down! This was easily an addictive read for me, and probably one of the top Freida books I've read. Sydney Shaw has had awful luck with dating - each prospect has been worse than the last. One night, after a particularly awful date, Sydney is cornered by her date in question, and rescued by a mystery man - a man who ignites a flame within her, but moments after the encounter he disappears without a word. Shortly after, a brutal murder occurs within Sydneys building, and her ex is leading the investigation. It seems as though this murder may be connected to a recent string of similar murders, and Sydney's ex convinces her to call off dating for a while - until Sydney reunites with Mystery Man. The two hit it off, and everything seems perfect - until the cracks begin to show in Mystery Man's persona. What follows is a story of obsession, of possession, and the darkness that can grow within a person. I thought I knew where this was going but it took me by surprise. I was so invested in the story - seeing the flashbacks of Tom and his life thus far. Sydney, however, was a little infuriating at times - she definitely had the clueless main character in a horror story vibe, and it was so frustrating to read her thoughts when encountering some things. Overall, entertaining (in a thriller type of way), twisty, and I highly recommend!

Suspenseful thriller
The Boyfriend is another gripping, twist-filled thriller from Freida McFadden that keeps you guessing until the very end. The story pulls you in right from the start with its fast pace, unreliable characters, and shocking twists that you never see coming.
