Sarson's Gravy Browning 150ml (Pack of 2)

Quality was great. I was very pleased with it.

Bought the 2-pack in late January 2019, which arrived intact, with a pretty good expiration date of 9/29/2019. Of course "good" depends on your usage rate. Shake well before using. Made in Jamaica. No info on label if there is a need to refrig after opening. Ingredients are cane sugar, water, caramel, salt, sodium benzoate as a preservative. Right out of the bottle I found the taste (finger dab to tongue) to be pretty bland, there's a non-descriptive taste, not sweet, not salty, not bitter. I guess the reason other reviews say it can be used in cakes or on food. My first use was to bake turkey legs. The Browning sauce worked well. I seasoned the meat first and then brushed the Browning on before popping in the oven. I also added a little Wright's Liquid Smoke for a little extra flavor. It turned out very good... yummy. I always have a problem finding this brand in my local supermarkets, so I decided to go on Amazon to find it and whoop there it was. I was so happy it came in a double pack. I subscribed for every 5 months.

Even though both bottles were sealed, somehow the plastic cap got chipped causing the liquid to seep all over the package and other bottle during shipment making a big syrupy mess. I cleaned up the mess before the photo was taken. Great seasoning though, this is my second order of it. My first order from a few months ago was just fine, it did not arrive broken. Look at the other customer images, I'm not the only one with a broken cap.

This is thick, rich, and black - just the way I like it. Be careful though, if you pour too much your stews can look and taste burnt! GO easy with it. No heavy handedness. LOL!
