I can’t believe how nice these are at such a low price point. To make a super long story short, I wanted to build an automatic air freshener that sprays standard sized air freshener cans every two hours for about 4 seconds. I got sick of the plugins, annd one second sprayers that use those tiny cans that cost a fortune and last a week. Anyway, after figuring out what I needed, I decided these would be what I use to depress the nozzle on the spray cans. A homemade circuit would send 12 volts to one of these for 4 seconds and spray the air freshener. Works like a charm. They have hundreds of cycles through them and are still going strong.

When you apply 12 volts to this the unit vibrates and feels like it is under a constant load and will burn out quickly. Not sure why? UPDATE: So it appears that this solenoid can only have a momentary switch of open and closed. This unit should not have a constant load. if you do that it works great. was using it for something other than a car door lock.

I ordered and received 4 power lock actuators. One of the four broke on first use. The plastic "piston" snapped at the mounting point to the car's lock mechanism. The other 3 work fine so far... I am disappointed that there is no way to make some sort of "warranty claim." All I want is to replace the one that is faulty.
