I was really surprised by the quality of this item, given its low price. The case is really sturdy, compact, & well designed. The paints exceeded my expectations. While they are "student grade", they are not at all chalky. They are well pigmented, vibrant, with a lovely transparency. The colors do not fade as they dry. I'm very pleased I made this purchase.

I just got this recently and am already in love with it. I keep wanting to go play with it because it's so easy to use. The brush it came with is very convenient and has a nice fine tip. I even bought a pack of Pentel Arts Water Brushes to go with it and I use both. The set is just adorable and I love all the different assortments of colors you can get. The 30 feels right to me, but if I got the biggest one as I gift I'd be pretty tickled. The sponge is really nice in here to change colors and you can clean the brush easily. The brush is nice to control how much water you use with just a little pressure. You can even squeeze a bunch out to make splatter effects and clean the brush at the end. I honestly bought this for the compact quality and the fact it has this water brush. I was actually really impressed by the color quality of the paints. I feel like they will last quite a while and there is a nice thick pad of color in each square. The colors available are very vivid with a nice range of cools and warms and nice crisp dark colors. I was surprised with how much I love this little set and I look forward to making art with it. I highly recommend this as a gift to someone you know who likes to make art, or for yourself! This would be great for beginners all the way to professional. 5 Stars!

Amazing. Perfect size and amount of colors. Quality is great and it has lasted me around 3 years already. Love it so much I bought it for someone as a gift too.

decent watercolor. the water brush is a bit too stiff. pentel is better. but the quality of the watercolor is good, better than windsor newton cotman, in my opinion. it's bigger in overall size than cotman. 30 colors. I don't know about the white. who uses white watercolor? but, i would buy it again as a gift.

Sakura watercolors are smooth and creamy. They have great coverage, and reactivate nicely. I've used these paints on several projects. You can tell the difference between this product and a lesser priced set of watercolors. A bit pricey for a small set, but the end result is worth it. Lots of colors and sets to choose from.

Swell colors in a very accessible format. I'm a rank amateur but I still appreciate these! And I appreciate that this set packs easily for vacations.

The size of this field box is 4 1/2 by 6". It's actually the same box as the 24 half pan set, which I also have, but couldn't resist getting the larger set. The extra line of 6 half pans just means that it has one less sponge than the 24 pan set, and the waterbrush (divided into two parts) is stored in the space where the second sponge is in the 24 pan kit. The paints/pigments are not quite artist quality but still deep, and rich, very good, mostly transparent. The peach (Jaune Brilliant) is the only one that seems a little opaque. The case and palate is very sturdy, and has a convenient thumb ring on the bottom. It's hard to resist a field kit that is so compact and so handy. However the insert that holds the half pans is thin styrene and I'm not sure how well it will hold up Note that the half pans paints are firmly fixed in the styrene, they are not in individual pans like, for example, the Winsor and Newton field kits, so swapping or refilling colors may be more than just adding a new half pan. But you could always add liquid color to an empty pan and let it dry. The case doesn't snap shut very tightly, you may want to reinforce it with a rubber band around it. The Koi waterbrush is also easy to use and of good quality. You can put a 4 x 6" watercolor postcard in the lid and use the lid as an easel of sorts, but you can't store paper in this field kit, not a block of postcards at any rate, maybe there's room for a couple of sheets. The mixing area can be set up on the right or left side of the case, and has five wells for mixing. The back or lid of the case can be used for mixing or as an easel to hold a 4 X 6 watercolor postcard. The case has room only enough for the contents- not even for a short handled brush. But what is in it is basically enough for a compact field kit. This is a very desirable field kit for any watercolor artist. Oh I do love these, great to use and when dry, great choice of colours and good quality. Good to blend with water. Compact enough to take when travelling too. Highly recommended by professionals. I’ve really enjoyed using these in a variety of watercolour pieces….

Muy buen producto, al final el pincel recargable no lo usé porque es muy malo para hacer detalles o delinear pero si es muy bueno para rellenar y hacer trazos grandes. Los colores son muy bonitos y aunque la tapa no se atora de forma inclinada, es muy buen equipo para pintar al aire libre y llevarlo a cualquier lado.

Originally bought the smaller set for my daughter for school. Gave her back her travel set and picked up this larger set for myself to use at home. Love that it came with 2 pans and the brushes appear alright although I haven’t used them yet. Colours are nice and vibrant and you can achieve a more opaque look or translucent. So far everything blends quite well. I’m still learning and these are far nicer to learn on than the cheaper made sets. It makes it that much more enjoyable and no struggle! Lots of paint to last you awhile.
