While it's probably not the most common way to eat halim or garden cress seeds, I wanted to try sprouting these. Just putting them on a paper towel that was kept wet for a few days resulted in the majority of the seeds starting to sprout. In the first day or so the seeds' own mucilage coats became visible as little gel coverings that help them stay moist. Then in another couple of days, little sprouts started coming out of the seeds. The raw seeds have quite a potent flavor. When you bite into them, they have a strong tangy flavor. They can also be eaten dry-roasted to increase their flavor. Sprouting them gives them a more mild flavor. The packaging displays the FSSAI number (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) which regulates food safety in India. There is, however, nothing on the packaging that leads me to believe the product is organic as defined by the USDA. The brand name, "Organic Spree" and the manufacturer, "Namo Organics," are the only references to the term "organic" on the packaging. The packaging also does not display the Indian organic symbol of a checkmark made of leaves. The front of the package displays a green dot in a square. It's the symbol of a vegetarian product in India. As long as you're not buying these as an organic product, I think these are good quality halim seeds. If you're hoping that the name "Organic Spree" means that the seeds are organic, just be aware that there is no indication on the packaging that they are indeed organic.

These are very good quality seeds that comes in a handy, resealable package. I am very pleased with these, and I intend to order more again. Also, the price point is quite nice.
