Q: I have a 50 amp shore power and a 30 amp generator will this work

Yes. I have just the opposite. 30 amp shore power and 50 amp generator. The transfer switch selects the power source. It doesn't care what the amps are, just so they are less than 50.

Q: When power has been restored will this transfer switch automatically shut the generator down? There will be no issues when the power comes back on?

To my knowledge, it simply switches trailer power between two sources. Default is shore power. It switches to the alternate when power is applied to that input. It does not have any logic to control a generator.
