Good quality, honest craftmanship.
An excellent pocket knife, made in Sheffield and great value for money. Nice aesthetics and all the bits fit as they should .The blade arrived razor sharp. There's some chatter online about variable quality control but the three I've bought over the years have all been spot on.

Seems solid but poorly finished
Seems solid but poorly finished with rough edges. Really stiff to open and stiffer to close at first but getting easier with use.

Very sharp
Bought this to replace one i had for years but lost in the garden and very pleased with it. It is well made and good quality and really useful and very sharp so care is needed using it. Highly recommended x

Poor quality knife
Knife broke within a month of light use. I contacted the seller who promised to replace. I never heard back even after sending the faulty knife back. I would not recommend this seller or this product

A well crafted, hand made pocket knife.
I purchased this particular pocket knife as it was made by a well known Sheffield cutler. The blade retains its sharpness and you are therefore less likely to cut yourself than you would with a knife that constantly needs resharpening. It is a legal folding knife being under 3" blade length and non locking. Having been a field engineer for several computer companies the need to have a sharp pocket knife is a given. Stripping back comms cables, opening various component packages, trimming terminal boxes and many other uses make the need for a sharp knife essential.

Oh dear!
I really want to give this a higher rating but I have to give an honest review as quite frankly if I had found one it would have saved me a few quid. Now these are inexpensive knives we all know that, they are hand made we know that too. All made in England and made in the traditional way. All of that is great but there are a number of issues. Firstly mine arrived with a terrible blade. It was completely uneven and pretty blunt and I mean blunt to the point that no amount of sharpening on a stone could improve it I had to use a high powered sharpener to get a edge back on it because it just wasnt there. It was also uneven you could see where the edge faded then came back towards the end of the blade. The other issue is function. Now people make this big thing about the "pull" of the blade opening but lets be blunt here. You want a safe knife and two things a blunt knife is not a safe knife and a knife that is like a bear trap to open and close is not a safe knife to use. The nail nick is pointless fortunately I am able to pull the blade out but I do think others would struggle with these blades. Yes the snap back is strong and once the blade is open there is no way that its going to close on you by accident. That being said closing the blade can be a problem it does have a half stop but someone unaware could end up with an injury if not careful closing it. That has nothing to do with a blade being strong but poor construction that makes it hard to open and close and therefore more likely to cause a problem for the user. There are tons of knives that simply dont have that problem so there isnt really an excuse. I have an almost identical Joseph Rodgers that opens and closes with ease. The internet is full of reviews saying "Oh its all hit and miss and part of the charm" That really is not an acceptable excuse for something that becomes less than safe for the user. Ok now having covered that moving onto the handle. Its comfortable and the blade once sharp is a good one. Its a stout blade I have used it for basic tasks so far but considering its thickness should be able to put up with some decent use, thats when it has a decent blade on it. One thing I would say it dulls quite quickly so regular cleaning and a quick sharpen at the end of use helps. If you want better try Taylors Eye Witness premier, never had a problem with these.

Brilliant.
Great well made knife as you would expect. Over had this for around a year and it's still great, I will lose it before I wear it out.
