Added new batteries, held down the home button for 10 seconds and remote was synced.Also synced via the firestick menu, which allowed the TV controls to also work (power, volume).Tested the voice control, works well with Alexa understanding everything said.The batteries have 2 separate compartments, and are a little tight. The remote needs a good slap to get the batteries to pop out.

This remote looks and acts as a replacement for the first few generations of fire sticks. It has all of the familiar functions you would expect and can acts to control the fire interface as well as the tv related controls eg volume up and power off.Pairing to your device is simple and it features instructions to explain how to do so if you haven’t done it before. I paired quickly and without issue and it functions fine for both device control and tv function control. The only negative is that sometimes it doesn’t respond straight away, but mostly it is fine and a good replacement option.

This remote has a few extra buttons to my original which sadly died.It has the usual buttons, directional button, home button etc but this also has Volume up/down and mute buttons as well as an on/off button.A great upgrade, good quality not sure why the original didn’t come like this.
