The best wood substitute.
Owning a very old property I use loads of this I think I've probably got through about six or eight tubes so far. I use them for repairing the rotten parts of barn doors etc I cut away the rotten wood use wood hardener and then fill it in with this and after 24 hours you can drill cut sand it's really the very best wood substitute you can get and it doesn't crack or sprit it's streets Ahead of ordinary wood filler.I Grant you it isn't cheap but you really do get what you pay for if you imagine a fairly thick epoxy resin then that's exactly what it's like. you only mix what you need and it keeps months without going off.

Excellent Product but Expensive
Excellent product for wood repair. Remains slightly flexible to allow for expansion / contraction.Only concern is very expensive.

Super strong and sets very very quickly
I use this slot as I'm a sash window restorer, it's so easy to use and very very strong, sets very quickly so make sure your timber is prept well before you mix this..

Over engineered for simple repair work
Over engineered for simple repair workI purchased a TIMBABUILD Starter Box for £126.48 in October 2021 as an aid to repairing 100-year-old wood on the exterior of a mock Tudor house. The first thing to say about the Box and the product is that it is good quality and the Epoxy in the form of EHB60 and ERC10 works well. However, the cartridges are only 400ml and the amount of epoxy filler in each goes nowhere in the 'real' world.Replacement/additional cartridges are sold for around the £30 each mark (ouch!).Research I have completed since tells me this is not 'over the top' for Epoxy as it is made from expensive Raw materials. So, the question you need to ask about whether to use the product or not is “is this repair of mine structural”?Although what is structural in nature for simple repairs to things like Window Ledges and Window Frames etc is not easy to quantify; that said if you think it is then go for the Epoxy. If the repair is not structural in nature and let us be honest most are not when 'patching' then stick with a 2 pack Styrene based (with flexibility if possible) or similar filler for your repairs and if needed insert screws into the wood so that they lie below the surface of the repair to provide the added strength that some works require. As a professional I have used Styrene based fillers for 30 years and still see windows on listed buildings I have worked on that far back looking good after all that time. The key to success with wood repair is:1/ Ensure that ALL the rotten wood is removed during the preparation stage (to do this I use a Burr and a Die Grinder) so there are no weak edges for water to seep into.2/ Ensure that any additional support is incorporated into the repair work .If the preparation is completed correctly your repair will last 30+ years. So, in summary Timbabuild is a fabulous product but it is over engineered and overpriced for my purposes. For everyday repair to woodwork there are far more affordable products out there that get the job done. I hope that helps?
