First impressions are wow!
First impressions are wow! I opened, and had it setup in less than 10 minutes. Sound, screen quality is excellent. Some big tablets have very poor sound, but this is great. I am especially happy with how solid it feels. I banged it against the table, and was pleased to see it was more solid than the table. I loaded up games and apps that I use regularly with my phone. And the speed was super fast, what I didn't realise is that I can add a sim card to it. Which could be very useful when out of range of wifi. The video quality is good. So it is handy for using for video calls as well. I will load up Whatsapp as well as that is a must for me. Price and quality has surprised me. Overall I am very very happy.

A very nice tablet
The UMIDIGI Active T1 is my first foray into Android. First impressions were of a well presented, well packaged tablet. On lifting it out of its foam padded box it is obviously heavier than the iPad it replaced. Fair enough, I bought it for its claimed ruggedness and IP68 rating. The display is very good with a wide viewing angle. No good if you don't like others seeing your screen, but excellent if it's not aligned perfectly with your eyes. Setting it up was fairly intuitive. Took a while to locate the simcard slot as you have to peel back an edge of the armour to access it. I put in 1 simcard and a 128GB miniature sd card, effectively doubling the storage capacity. Tested the WiFi on 2.5 & 5 GHz, all good. 4G performance was also good. Location services are excellent with good GPS reception even indoors. Couldn't tell what constellation it was using. Audio quality is much better than my old iPad. Bluetooth didn't work on my admittedly old headphones but was fine using my Bluetooth speakers. I was unable to transfer files directly from iPad to the Umidigi (could be I don't know how) so I transferred everything from iPad - PC - Umidigi. The Umidigi came pre-loaded with a lot of apps, most of which were unfamiliar to me and there was no indication of their function. With the help of Google I removed several of them. All the apps I had on the iPad I've found in the Playstore. They all work just fine. I've given it a 5-start review but this tablet WILL get wet at some point (I will be using it as a navigation plotter on my yacht) so only time will tell if it lives up to its IP rating.

Better than I thought
So my son is 4 and thinks it's ok to chuck his tablet in water 🙈 after 2 tablets being ruined I decided I need to look into a waterproof one. I've always been put off to the thought of rugged ones as they are bricks however I found this lighter weight one and thought I'd give it a go. Surprisingly it's only around 130g heavier than his old one, he can carry it around no worries. I even managed to get a Samsung kids case so it can stand and it lines up with the charger point, mostly the volume button but the camera is a little covered but that doesn't bother him he won't be using that feature anyway. I can't believe how long the battery last compared to his Samsung and he's been using it mostly for videos and games. The sound and picture quality is perfect for him. I'm so glad I went for this tablet and now I don't have to worry if he throws it in any water again as long as I get it straight back out 🤞

Robust and powerful tablet, good screen and decent audio
I bought this because I wanted a robust tablet I don't need to worry about dropping, with a long battery life. It's performed better than expected and I'm glad I went with this model. The screen is great and good for watching movies and videos, which is my main use for this. It is also waterproof so I use it to listen to music in the bath (I don't submerge it just to be safe but it sits by the tub and gets splashed a lot). Some users might find the tablet a little heavy, but I consider even this a bonus, because it gives me a slight workout for my wrists when using it. The battery lasts for days and I haven't had any crashes or glitches with this tablet after many weeks of daily use. Definitely worth the purchase even if just as a secondary or backup tablet.

Two months in and it won’t charge
I thought this on the 23rd of October, it’s had very light use as I was getting it as a backup for the kids homework should my old laptop stop working but as of the 27th of December it will not charge at all. Absolute waste of money which I couldn’t afford in the first place. Do not buy

Great tablet
This tablet is quite heavy but is very strong. It comes with an already fitted screen protector and fitted case. It has a good screen and camera. It has an option for sim and memory cards which is brilliant value for such a low price. The battery is really long lasting and it is easy to set up and use. The only criticism I have is that the case was sharp to the touch as it has ridges around that aren’t finished off very well but the tablet is a fantastic buy.

Undecided
Initially seemed like a great tablet, feels robust it’s fast and the camera was great quality. Unfortunately it failed with a black screen within a couple of days. I contacted UMIDIGI with a question around data as I have a lot of important data on it both work and my password manager so I have security concerns around returning it without it being wiped. Support has been slow and pretty much useless. I did like the feel of the tablet and the camera as really fits the bill so I’ve arranged a return even though I’m nervous about my data and ordered another in the hope that I’ve just been unlucky. Maybe the supplier or Amazon can tell me step in and tell me how my data is going to be safe…?

Perfect for Fishing – Excellent Split Screen Feature
I got this tablet specifically for fishing, and it’s been fantastic. The split-screen feature allows me to use the bait boat view on one side and the Deeper app on the other—super handy! This is my first time using an Android device after only owning Apple tablets, and I’m really impressed. It’s well-made, fast, and works perfectly with my ND2 bait boat, providing excellent range. The waterproof design is a brilliant bonus for outdoor use. Highly recommend for anglers and anyone needing a reliable tablet for rugged conditions!

I was finally looking to upgrade from my 8" fire tablet that is LOADED with bloatware and very slow to navigate even though there is hardly any apps on the device. Saw this and was previously very impressed with Umidigi products so I gave it a shot. All I can say is WOW! This thing is heavy duty, in a good way. I love how well-built it is from styling of the whole device, the rugged back, and the easy of use. The device synced up with my Google account instantly and was able to download all the apps I needed in a heartbeat. Things I love about it: -The screen is VERY responsive -Power and volume buttons are easy to find and press (but don't accidently get bumped) -There is a "Hot Key" that allows you to do a multitude of shortcuts (up to 3 total) There is a headphone jack! -The battery life is phenomenal -Device is very heavy (for some this may be a crutch but I love it) -The speakers sound like Dolby surround even through the 4 speakers (two on each the bottom/top or left/right depending how you are holding the device) -Camera is very good despite only being 16mp -Comes with a nice case that has a stylus holder (which is also included) -Includes USB-C to USB-C cable AND the wall charger block Nitpicky items but not worth stars being taken away: -Charging takes a while, which is relevant to how long the battery lasts -Not many options for a case with a built in stand (yet) -When you enter your 4 digit passcode, you have to hit "enter" instead of it just unlocking Overall, I'm super glad I took the leap and bought this tablet as I have NEVER been an Apple fan and refused to use my wife's iPad Pro. I FINALLY found a new device to watch downloaded movies and shows on when traveling for work!!!

Our UMIDIGI Ownership experience started with the A5 Pro, Power 3, F1, Bison X10 and F3S. All of which are currently in use except for the A5 Pro which was lost/stolen. All the devices had a premium look and feel, and excellent performance and superior bang for your buck. These positive experiences were the reason why I had the UMIDIGI tablets in my list of devices to research. So when I received an invitation to try the newly released Active T1 from UMIDIGI, I jumped at the opportunity . When I opened the box I was delighted to see that the Active T1 included the same bundles I always got with all my past UMIDIGI devices, a case, cable, charger block and screen protector (already applied), as well as a useful stylus. No hassles and no need to search and spend more for compatible cases and screen protectors, which seems to be the new norm when you buy devices these days. The Active T1 is a solid device, a bit hefty (probably due to the good size Battery), but that feels good in hand and gives assurance of a quality build. The Active T1 powered up in little time, as expected for a first start and battery was almost fully charged so I could go through the usual android set up without having to wait. Set up was done without any issues and account synced quite quickly. Android updates were downloaded and installed quickly in the background no fuss no muss. The screen resolution is excellent and bright, text is sharp, easy to read, colours are rich and vivid. Comparable to all modern high end devices. Battery life has been great, lasting all day, running youtube videos, playing music, and doing video calls. Processing speeds are excellent The camera resolutions are good for the video as well as photos. One feature we would like the developers to consider would be a "knock to open" function, as the only way to activate the screen is with the power button, which is in the stiff case. The tablets most major disadvantage is its weight. It can be hard to hold up for any period of time meaning you will either need a stand or get used to using it flat. I must say that the excellent experience we have had and are having with our other UMiDiGi devices, continues! I trust the value and build quality of this Active T1 which like our other UMIDIGI devices, punches above their weight and class, I won't have to buy any accessories, I can still use the wired headphones I already own, and have bluetooth connectivity if needed, a nice big battery that lasts a good long while, has support for the latest Android and security patches, expandable storage, a device that does what I need it to do and at a reasonable price. UMIDIGI is a brand that we have come to appreciate, If you fall in the same use category as us, this may be a device to try. I started many years ago with a budget A5 Pro, and our experience with the brand has been positive so far.
