It's actually a tachi!
So many katana get listed as "tachi", but you can tell just by looking at it that it's not curved enough. This isn't one of those. If you're looking for an affordable tachi, this is very hard to beat. Beautiful looking sword that looks very solidly built. Came reasonably sharp but not shaving sharp. I've cut through bamboo with it and there was no damage on the blade. Comfortable weight for a two handed sword.

An actual Tachi
This is the only tachi on Amazon that has a real sori (curve). The blade is sharp and fits well in the saya with no rattle. The ito is decently wrapped and there is cloth underneath instead of rayskin (still historically valid). Overall, great for the price.
