Like a laser beam!
If you are into pruning a little here and there and you want a fast cutting and comfortable little saw....BUY THIS! I strapped this tool on my garden belt while I had tasks other than pruning to do. Low and behold...a surprise branch or two on one of our Japanese maples needed attention. This well made saw zipped through 1 and 2 inch branches practically before I could think about lunch. I was so surprised by the ease of cutting I headed for our weeping cherry tree, as it always has a few branches to prune. I picked a couple of 3 inch branches and with, maybe, 8 easy pulls each of the branches fell to the ground. It was a lot more work dragging the long branches to the mulching pile than it was to trim them with this saw. It's really well made with a wooden sheath and sharp as possible. It cuts like a laser! Not sure where or when I'll be able to get it sharpened when needed....but, I'll buy another one if I need to as this is now a must have tool for me.

Great Blade! Don’t get the sheath wet.
It’s not top quality, but the wood sheath looks cool and the blade is superb. I’ve ordered so many different folding and hand saws, including the Japanese one similar to this one, and the blade on this beats them all. Will buy again for sure. My only complaint is; when I used it in the rain, the wooden sheath warped and made a slit big enough for the saw to fall out of it.

Good saw, bad sheath design
This saw will cut through living and dead, small diameter tree branches with ease. But beware, the clasp that is supposed to hold the saw in the sheath was poorly designed. Even with the clasp closed around the saw handle, the slightest tug on the handle allows for the saw to slide out of the sheath a couple inches, exposing the saws razor sharp teeth. There'd be no problem if the clasp had been installed to close just a 3/8 of an inch tighter, and would've earned 5 stars.

Cheap product.
Cheap wood.Cheaply assembled.Cheap and poor fitted sheath.Blade had ok flex but I dont trust the rigidity of it to last past a few 2-3" aspens or pines.

It Works
I am glad I purchased this tool. I use all the time and works like a charm. Handle is comfortable, cuts branches like butter. I recommend this product.

Not as good as the older models
I bought this to replace an older version, which I purchased directly from Garrett Wade. This one is significantly lower in quality, especially the wood handle and holder. The craftsmanship is messy and poor quality, its a China copy of the Japanese original probably. Very disappointed!

Alright for what it is
The blade is good, the handle is okay, the sheath is poor quality. The strap is pleather for one and it doesn't keep the handle in place at all, just slides right out. Just feels cheap
