The Statue of Freedom is the crowning glory of the U.S. Capitol. This beautiful reproduction of the magnificent figure that stands sentry on top of the Dome is offered in some of the original marble from the East Front of the Capitol. The marble is crushed into a fine powder; resin is added to hold the fine particles together and molded into the classic shapes. The detail on "Freedom" is incredible -- from the top of her helmet, to the hilt of her sheathed sword, to the laurel wreath grasped in her hand. I love this statue of Lady Freedom
I love this statue of Lady Freedom, and was very happy to find this excellent quality statue. Often on statues of this size the faces aren't very well done, but this one is great. Along with the Statue of Liberty, she is a powerful feminine symbol, something I think we need more of nowadays.

So Well Done - Looks Hand Carved
I was a little surprised by the Ivory color as photos show it to be stark white - but it looks just as nice. I am amazed at how well this is cast - details in the most obscure areas and flawless finish all over. If I had been told that this sculpture sold for over $250.00, I would have believed someone!
