Pretty neat microscope for your phone
So, I have a microscope that is similar to this one, but it connects to a PC using USB-A... And that's been fun, but its also been annoying due to having so much equipment to haul around if you want to look at something with it. That's why I thought it might be fun to get one that connects to your phone. The kids and I had a great time walking around the house looking at things up close. It felt a bit like the movie "honey I shrunk the kids" looking at all these things around our house. It gets pretty wild, like sometimes its a bit disgusting what you see in that hidden tiny world we have no idea about. Anyway, look at my pictures and try to guess what I took pictures of with the scope. I'll post the answers at the end of my review.Pros:Easy to use, just download an app and plug in the wire and it works.Built in adjustable lightshutter button built into the cordcapable of pretty interesting capturesCons:-Its easy to get disoriented when moving it around. moving left might move up on your screen unless you get it oriented correctly-There is a bit of a learning curve with the brightness adjustment, but once you get used to it, it works pretty good. All in all, its pretty decent and I've enjoyed using it.Ok, so the pictures I posted, here's the answers:Printed letter on a paperThe side of a dimeThe sharp point of a pencilThe edge of where the pencil paint is shaved offA flower petal stemA flower petalA woven fabric strapThe blue line on a lined piece of paperFun right? Its a pretty neat little gadget.

Adjustable LEDs are NOT User adjustable
Update:(1) As I stated below, the built-in LEDs are not user adjustable. However, I stumbled upon this by accident. The clear plastic sleeve at the business end of the microscope tube can be rotated slightly and it comes right off. I bought a digital microscope stand with its own fully adjustable side LED lights (2) with 8 brightness levels.(2) To get the maximum magnification, you have to place the specimen inside the clear plastic sleeve. I put the specimen being examined on top of a stack of 1 nickel and 2 pennies to lift it close enough to the end of the microscope to achieve maximum magnification. This is when I discovered that the clear plastic sleeve can be removed.(3) 1600X is achieved by using the 2.0X button in the camera app on your smartphone. The microscope only magnifies to 800X. So, it's 800X (maybe) optical magnification, with a digital doubler. But it did a good job with my first specimen. I could see and discern Abraham Lincoln sitting on his pedestal inside the Lincoln Memorial on the back of a U.S. penny. This microscope magnified it big enough that it was discernable in a YouTube video.I still haven't tried to get close enough to a leaf to see its cell structure. With 800X, I should be able to see the inner workings of cells.End of Update. It works. It shows a nice picture. But the "adjustable" LEDs are not user adjustable. So, turning down the brightness or turning it off is not possible. The video size is smaller than a typical social media video. But, what did I expect for $35?I like that I can magnify tiny things, but I don't think it comes anywhere close to 1600X magnification. I'm going to look for a way to test for that. For what I have planned, this will do for now. I hope. The cord is kind of short. I bought an extension cable (6.6 feet) on Amazon which works really well. I also bought a small stand (which I'm going to return for a larger stand) to help hold the microscope steady when zooming in and zooming out (hand-held operation). You zoom in by moving the microscope closer to the object being examined. It's really hard to hold the microscope still enough to view anything magnified to the max.

literally wouldn't do anything
I wrote a long and thoughful review of how this thing literally doesn't do anything. No light, nothing. It may as well be an empty tube from a roll of toilet paper. They woulnd't post my review because it went against the rules. well sir, this product is against my community guidelines for not doing anything.

Worked perfect for 5 days
Worked amazing for 5 days.... then out of nowhere the lights went dim and won't brighten back up, so you can't see what you're looking at very well. Sucks cuz it did work AMAZINGLY at first

Excellent for education!
Wanna teach that lesson of "what's in a kitchen sponge?", or "do you think a fly wing is flat?". This is excellent for that.Manual focus, minimal software, weird dual-head cable, _short_ cable, but... Decent imager and lens, and 6 white LEDs. You'll want a stand.Recommended!- Software note. For iOS or Android, you're looking for an app listed as "sup-anesok". The tech of this camera isn't magic, and other apps will support it. But, this is the place to start.

Fun to use
My kids love it! Easy to set up & use (download an app, plug into phone, twist to focus). Works well. Kids had fun running around collecting items to check out under a microscope.

Microscope
Works really well and my son loves it. Pictures are pretty Clare and zooms in a lot. Very nice microscope and love that it plugs in to the iPhones that have the lightning plugs still. Won’t work on the iPhone 15’s though cause they have the USB C cords now. But other than that I would recommend

A good gadget
I bought this for my granddaughters birthday. So having downloaded the app it worked straight out of the box, within seconds we were looking at insects and human hairs. Amazing in that she has a sight impairment but because it was produced onto the phone she had a clear picture of what we looked at. It will help with her biology projects at school,so all in all we are happy. A good gadget.
