Great idea…educational… lots of fun for children.
The media could not be loaded. This is a lovely globe, with lots of detail…. possibly too much, as the place names are a bit cramped in places. It’s rechargeable, and the little switch to turn the light on is just a touch sensor rather than a button as such. I struggled to find it but it’s the little silver dot above the charger port.Inside the manual is the qr code to get the app, which downloaded and installed easily on my iPhone. The app is full of fun info and is relatively easy to install, but has a few little issues… like insects being called Lnsects.Full of different menus, like famous people, architecture, animals. Insects and even constellations and dinosaurs!!!! It is in an American rather than English accent but easily understandable.Soo much to keep the children occupied! Great for younger ones with supervision and older ones by them selves..The globe itself is built really well and the base is solid….it comes with a magnifying glass too to explore the globe surface more closely too…Would make a lovely gift for a family…

Educational Globe
Bought for home schooling to teach child about the world we live in. 10 out of 10 for description of purchase. Would highly recommend this interactive globe. Easy for child to download APP to use for finding countries. Brilliant!!!

Tolerable globe, app is in Chinese
The globe itself is ok.Nothing amazing, and the size is just a little too small to accomodate the detail on it. A lot of the text is awkward to read because of how tightly compressed the information is on finer, crowded, regions.Sometimes the choice of font and colour makes lettering near illegible over country-borders, etc.Presumbly this is why the glove inexplicable comes with a cheap plastic hand magnifying glass. The bumps for mountain ranges is a nice touch, but it seems more of a novelty than a meaningful representation of altitude. The wood stand is nice and solid; the metal axis sturdy. The app might add a ton of value, but we struggled to make it work. One iPhone required a more recent OS version than the device can install; and on another device it presented terms-and-conditions in what appeared to be Mandarin - could've been demanding a kidney in exchange for using it for all we could tell. No, China, we do not agree to you harvesting our personal information, thank you very much.A third device couldn't read the QR code at all, and we weren't going to ferret around on Google store to install it manually. The charging and illumination works fine - although is less convenient than just having a regular power cable running from the base to a standard wall outlet. Yet another chargeable device that fights your USB > wall socket adaptors for use.I think there's better proportioned globes available at cheaper prices that would be preferable.

Solid build, easy to operate but very crowded.
The overall build of the globe and stand is good, feels solid and not likely to break with normal use.I like the padded feet on the base and the overall aesthetic of the white wood and metal, it's not too cumbersome to hold in the hand and rotate the globe to points of interest. The varying brightness is a welcome addition as is the magnifying glass however I find that it doesn't help much, could be better for sure. There's a good amount of detail on the globe however given that it isn't very big it does mean quite a bit of crowding of text in places, in fact next to the UK you'll find a numbered legend for countries that couldn't be printed in situ. The text in some regions is quite difficult to discern as there's not enough space and the colour contrast isn't great. Feels like a globe that would be used to discuss larger concepts such as oceans and continents rather than the minutiae of small countries. The USB Type-C port on the globe is out of the way and not typically visible however it's annoying that it's not in the base, as once the included cable is plugged in you wouldn't be able to rotate the globe fully.I also find the close proximity of the touch button to the port annoying, it would be better slightly further apart so that using the button is just as easy when a cable is plugged in or not.Still, for the price it's a good start toward explaining the Earth to young minds and sparking their curiosity!£29.99 as of writing with a 10% discount voucher available.4/5
