I had blonde highlights until I got my hair colored a beautiful, rich mid-tone brown about 4 months ago. I've colored it brown now twice professionally at a salon, and love it for the first few weeks, but found it fades within a month or two since the professional brown color was applied over previously bleached hair. So instead of spending another several hundred dollars at a salon I thought I'd give a home semi-permanent glaze a go..Do not.This product is really best for natural brunettes or those who have never bleached or colored their hair in a way that opened the hair shaft. I had the color on my 10 mins as prescribed and it turned by ends BLACK. Blue-black to be specific. Then after 1 wash, they're a dark teal (as in this photo). It looks like manic panic and is uneven and patchy.Ease of Use: This product is really no easier than a regular home box dye. It gets absolutely everywhere, doesn't come with gloves to protect you from staining, which by god it stains everything immediately. My nails were dark blue/black for days and it immediately stained the marble in my bathroom.Packaging: The bottle is poorly designed and doesn't let you get the product out without crushing it, which rendered it impossible to use for future uses.The instructions were useless and said nowhere on the packaging itself not to use on highlights or that the bottle was 2-3 uses worth of product. No one is going online to read what a bottle should tell us. They cheaped out on packaging by not giving an external box with surface area for more text to explain how to best use the product and chose a poor bottle shape and hardness instead for a cuter aesthetic experience.Update:I had to spend 5 hours in a hair salon professionally removing this dye from my hair. It took the colorist 2 rounds of 1 hour applications of color extractor sulfur to pull the blue dye out. She stressed that this is not a semi-permanent dye if it is this difficult to remove. The labelling of this as a "tinted moisturizer for your hair" is super misleading and not true to the staying power of the dye on highlighted hair. This attaches permanently to highlighted hair. It cost me $400 to remove and color over. Won't use again.

I was honestly shocked by how much I loved this gloss! I have medium brown hair that tends to look dull and frizzy, but after just one use of this gloss, my hair looked so much healthier. It gave me a beautiful, cool-toned brunette finish with a mirror-like shine — like I had just walked out of a salon.It’s super easy to use (just like a hair mask!), smells amazing, and didn’t leave any weird residue. My hair felt soft and smooth for days. Plus, there was no mess or staining in the shower. It does stain your hands if you don’t wear gloves, but it washes off in the shower with soap.If your brunette color needs a boost or you just want your hair to look more vibrant and glossy, this is absolutely worth a try. I will be repurchasing!

Writing the in depth review I was searching for for all my fellow type A girlies. Let’s dig into the pros and cons.To start, this product doesn’t have many directions, just to apply with gloves on wet or damp hair, and wait ten minutes. Simple enough. I washed my hair in the afternoon (shampooed and conditioned like normal) and waited a few hours, and when it was damp but not wet I came back to add the glaze. I bought a pair of hair dye gloves after reading some other reviews and I highly recommend you get them when you buy this, they are not included. I got the shade Chocolate Gleam because I already have dark hair and wanted something darker to freshen it up. I had virgin hair prior to trying this just as a note.The most valid criticism of this product is the container. Why it’s not in a plastic tube is beyond me and if it was I think this product would be perfect. I made a huge mess trying to squeeze the product out onto my gloves and now the entire bottle is covered in product that should have been in my hair. Taking off a star for that alone. To its credit it did wipe off easily and didn’t stain my counter, but this shouldn’t be an issue in the first place. Next time I think I’ll try to squeeze the product into a bowl to apply, but I shouldn’t have to buy additional products to use this one correctly. This needs to be fixed.Onto the good, the product itself was relatively easy to apply, I just kept coating my hair until I felt like it was covered, and set the 10 minute timer like it instructed. I don’t feel like I used even half the bottle, and I have fairly long hair. I got some product on my hairline and face but it came off with little trouble. Just use Vaseline on the top of your forehead and on your neck before you apply to keep it from staining.I rinsed in the shower until the water ran clear and then towel dried, my towel got product on it even though I felt I had rinsed it all so maybe use an old towel when you do this.After towel drying I blow dried without product and got the results you see in the after photo! In person my hair is noticeably shinier and my husband said it made me look like I just got a fresh cut and color. The color is so much more even and looks really flattering. On top of that my hair feels really good, it definitely conditioned and feels soft to the touch.Not sure on how long the color will last for me so I will come back and add that, (EDIT: This lasted maybe a week for me. Not as long as I’d hoped, BUT, I wanted something low commitment, and that’s what this is!) but so far I’m really impressed, if you are looking for a one step product with immediate results without stressing about the commitment, you should try this. If you don’t love the color, it says it rinses out in 10 washes, so no harm done. I’m really happy I took a chance on this!
