Lila Monetti Book
Lila’s book focuses a lot on her friendship and relationship with her family friend/mentor/ and gymnastics coach McKenna Brooks Girl of the year 2012. For a bit I thought it was too much fanservice but I took a step back and decided to read it like I was 9-12 years old again and realized that even if I didn’t know who McKenna was it was still a good book about positive female role models, and what to do when someone you rely on may not be available, as well as how to deal with the feelings of growing apart from long term childhood besties, how to deal with disagreements among friends ext. all of the lessons in this book are good and age appropriate for the target audience and would have benefited 5th and 6th grade me for sure. While Lila’s troubles are not as dire or severe as some girls of the year or historicals that does not mean that her situations are not also valid and important lessons for young kids learning to navigate family and friend Relationships and responsibilities in life. I thought it was a cute book.

Well written and cute gymnast book
My daughter loved this book and now wants the doll! She loves gymnastics and it’s hard to find books that aren’t cheesy. This was well written.
