Long time Arkham fan, first time game-booker
I've long enjoyed Arkham game products and thought this was a really interesting and portable way to bring the game on the go. Interesting story, challenging gameplay, and the prospect of additional characters to come - excellent! Looking forward to the next one.

Awesome book and wonderful, choose your own adventure.
What fascinates me about the Arkham material is the depth of the subject matter

A grown-up Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book!!
This book was so much fun, and definitely something you’ll want to read again and again because each time will have a different outcome. Sort of like a grown-up version of those classic Choose-Your-Own Adventure books from youth! So. Much. Fun!!!!

Repetitive dead ends
I'm a collector of everything Arkham Horror. I think this is the poorest product I have ever bought from Fantasy Flight / Acolyte Books. I have played choose your own adventure style books before. There is no "game" element or intelligence benefit to this. Pick an option, find out it is wrong, restart. Again and again until you force your way through. Pretty soon you find yourself saying "I will do everything the same to reach this point" and going back to the last entry and making another choice. Completely brainless. I give it 2 stars for the writing, which is fine. Very disappointing.

Well written story with lots of different paths
A surprising number of endings in this game book. It features well know and loved Arkham Horror characters but doesn’t require you to already be aware of them if you aren’t. The achievements are a nice touch that makes it fun to explore new paths even if you don’t find your way to a “winning” ending.

Not well written
Outside the play of the actual book and the interactions, the story is poorly written and lacks any descriptive language that will capture you and bring you in. This was poorly created.

I was sceptical about how this book would work but it’s fantastically done. Much closer to a text-based adventure than any RPG you might have done with friends and all the better for it. Rather than trying to “win” the game, the book rewards you with achievements that can be collected through many playthroughs which actively encourages replay. It’s very cleverly written to weave together multiple full stories and narratives as well, it’s not just “fail and don’t progress”. The tests are hard but an enjoyable experience and the game elements are well integrated. Would highly recommend if you enjoy the Arkham Horror universe or want to try something unique and interesting. I’ve been at it for at least 5hrs now and I imagine quite a few more will be spent in search of the remaining secrets as well!

Ceci est une impression amazon de très mauvaise qualité comme d'habitude

Nice enough gamebook, but the presentation of the whole thing is terrible. There isn't a single illustration in this gamebook, which is extremly disappointing. I was expecting something along the iconic drawings, which you'll find in FFG books... but no, nothing to be found here. This is especially disappointing as it takes place in the fictional world, that Fantasy Flight Games created and their board and card games are quite art-heavy. And while I can understand, that paying an art creator might be a bit much for such a cheap gamebook, there is something called AI nowadays (which costs hardly anything).
