Cooks perfectly, non stick is flawless.
This purchase replaced a decades old Forman which we purchased when the item first hit the market. It never was really non stick, which is why I suppose that it came with a plastic scraper. This new one is almost magical. A salmon filet and a chicken thigh with skin came off the grill just using a fork to lift them off. Cleaning was a breeze - no soaking or scrubbing. Now there is more meat on my fork than on the grill plate. Buy this grill without reservations. It works perfectly and is much more convenient than firing up the broiler or the outdoor grill. Five minutes or so and voila, a hot meal. The fat and grease are caught in a plastic receptacle that you dump in the trash and everything gets washed with siap and water. I have used a Forman for years, and I hope that this one lasts as long as my old one did and stays non stick for a long time.

Inexpensive and useful
I had this in my cart for a long time, thinking about whether I would really use it or not. I found it on sale and pulled the trigger. I find that I actually use it at least once or twice a week. I bought it to make burgers since I am not crazy about having to clean up the grease splatter when I use my cast iron skillet but honestly, I am still on the fence about whether I like how the burgers come out. Since there is no temperature control, you just season the meat, throw it on the grill and wait. The meat is cooked and has the grill lines cooked in but you don’t get the same char (flavor) as cast iron. What this grill does really well is grilled sandwiches, especially grilled cheese. The way I do it is to initially grill the bread separately so the butter can melt in. Then I take them off, build my grilled cheese and put it back to brown. I think if you tried to start with butter on both sides of a sandwich, the butter on the bottom half would run into the grease tray so less than ideal. I have also done pork chops and was fairly pleased with how they came out. The grill plates are removable which makes clean up easy. The top and bottom have no locking mechanism so storage can be a little challenging. I find it easier to just leave it on my counter. For the money, it’s a good product and it is easy to recommend.

Good ole Foreman grill!
Works great - I use it at least once a week. A couple notes based on my experience and previous reviews I have read. - Its not a 4-serving grill. Come on GF, lets double check portion sizes and revisit the description. Its 3-servings at best. - Food does not slide down the grill plate and not stay in place if the grill is properly pre-heated - its important to let the grill pre-heat and place food on the grill when the light turns green indicating it is ready to cook. Food will slide down the grill plate if its not properly pre-heated. - The grill plates are not hard to take off and put back on. We take them off and clean them after every use and have had no issues. - I cant say that this wasnt an issue with some grills in the past or even some that are sold now - but we have not had the issue if the black, dirty residue on the back of the grill plates that comes off when they get washed. The back of our grill plates looked like silver, unfinished metal and has never had any residue coming off of them - The plastic tray fits perfectly up under the front of the grill and captures any grease or run-off. We have never had a mess under the grill after cooking - I wish it had a timer like our old Foreman grill - thats the biggest bummer. I love it. It gets used a lot. Its easy to use and easy to clean. Highly Recommend.

Easy clean, super effective
While my original old George Foreman grill still works and is highly effective, I found the negative to the grill was always having to go through a process of trying to clean the plates and the machine. With it being a one piece it just seemed like it was more work then beneficial which resulted in not using it nearly as much as I would have liked to simply for the amount of excess time having to spend cleaning it. This new grill while it being a little bit more compact which is perfect for somebody who is cooking for one or maybe two, heats up fast, and the removable plates make every negative I ever felt about utilizing the device completely dissipate. Possibly because of the size difference, but this grill heats up quick. The only complaint that I have with the machine which is really minimal, is that it seems that the top portion of the bottom plate gets hotter than the lower portion of the same plate. It took one or two steaks to realize that but once I did then I know exactly where to place what and how much time that little minor heat difference will save. I think the plate tabs that the plates connect and get held in place with could be a little thicker in design, but I do comprehend that this is a device that is relatively generic for many different types of cooking styles so it really isn't that big of a deal. Absolutely worth the price I paid for it. Saves time, absolutely saves money with the amount of wattage that it uses in comparison to your stove top, super easy clean up, in size perfectly for any type of countertop or pantry storage.

Perfect for one or two people
Never knew how much I needed this until I bought it. Since it is just myself and husband now, we don't always like starting up the grill for a small amount, especially when we have a "just fend for yourself" night. It cooks so quickly and living in Iowa, it is easy to still grill in the middle of winter. I use it all the time! The fact that the nonstick grill plates detach to wash makes clean up a breeze!

Really good indoor grill, easy to use and to clean due to removable plates
I recently replaced my old, still functioning smaller George Foreman grill with this one. I liked the older one, but it was something of a drag to clean, since I had to be careful not to get it too wet below the plates, as they weren't detachable. I didn't use it as much because of this. Also, some of the non-stick coating had rubbed off over the years, probably from my using Pam-type sprays in the past. This one has plates which come off and can easily be washed in the sink with a bit of dish soap and something like a Scrub Daddy sponge (and not steel wool). That it's easy to clean is a real plus in my wanting to use it more often than the old one. It's really probably best cooking for 1-2 people at a time, as you might have to cook a second batch for 2 more people, since you'd be kind of jam-packing the available grill space. There's no temperature control or knobs; you simply plug it in, wait about 4 1/2 minutes for the other light to come on to alert you that it's heated up enough, and then add your food. It grills both sides of the food at once, so no need to flip it. I've cooked turkey burgers, boneless chicken breasts, hot dogs, grilled cheese so far and plan to try salmon and other things soon. You might want to experiment how long you want to cook things, as 4 minutes for a turkey burger certainly cooked it, but, as advertised, it drains a lot of the fat from the food. Perhaps a little less time might keep a bit more of the juices. The fat collects in the plastic reservoir, which is placed in front of the machine and is easily cleaned when you've finished cooking. To turn off the machine, simply unplug it. Of course, leave some time for the plates and the machine to cool down before attempting to remove the plates to clean them. I'd also recommend not using Pam or other kinds of sprays which have added chemicals which will rub off the non-stick surface. Instead, I use a plastic spray bottle and use real olive or other oil to spray on if you wish to do so. This grill won't heat the house, either. The first time you use it, the instruction book tells you to run it for like 15 minutes without any food in it to burn off any residuals chemicals, and it might smell or smoke which it says is normal. That happened as they said, but after that, it works really well, no smell except for the food being cooked, and I am very happy with my purchase.

Nice grill but hot dogs gonna escape
We like the new finish on the plates, much easier to clean, but the grill tilts down too much toward the front, so sausages and hot dogs want to roll off the grill. We just shimmed it up so there’s not such a slant, otherwise a good grill for 2 people
