I bought it to reduce the doses of my antidepressant. It worked like a charm for me. The blade and positioning is just crafeted for perfection. I'm amazed.

Due to various health conditions I have to take a lot of medication every day. And my doctor prescribed one and a half tablets for one of my medications. I was using a normal knife to cut them, and it worked just fine. However, every now and then I found it a little difficult to cut them. So I decided to invest in a pill cutter. I've never had one in my life.When the product first arrived, I wanted to try it out right away. There's no directions on how to use it. There are additional compartments that makes no sense. It cuts every pill very well, and easily. Especially if you line it up with the center groove in the pill. However, once you cut it...it won't slide down into the compartment underneath with the lid closed; so you have to open the lid to get it to slide down; so you can cut another pill.The other thing that baffles me is there's a compartment on the back; and I'm not quite sure what this is for, other than to store extra medications that you've cut, and didn't need to use right away. But you could do this with the bottom compartment. So again... I'm not sure why all the compartments? And since it didn't come with instructions, I have no idea what they're supposed to be used for. So... I basically just take those extra sliced pills, and put them in that small compartment on the back. And then once I slice the pill in half, I just move it down to the bottom compartment until I'm finished.The product is delicate. It's very light plastic. So don't try to use too much pressure; because I'm not sure if it will crack. The purchase comes with two pill cutters, so you have an extra one if it does. I haven't felt very concerned about it cracking; because I just do a light touch, and it cuts the pills very easily. So I'd say give this product a try. But if you tend to have a heavy hand, you might want to get something a little more sturdier.But again...for the life of me those extra compartments doesn't make sense. You would think they would have an opening when you cut the pill, so it would slide down into the bottom compartment; but it doesn't. So...it's only those extra compartments that baffle me.

I am very surprised by how effective and easy to use this is. Very intuitive as I didn't need instructions.

Very easy to use and safe. The only item of note is the little tray that holds the dust from the pills when cut, falls off from time to time.
