A Must-Have for Happy Houseplants
This moisture meter has been a game-changer for my houseplants! It's so simple to use, yet it provides invaluable information about the soil's moisture level. No more guessing or overwatering – I just stick the probe in the soil and get an instant reading. Since I started using this meter, my plants have been thriving. They look healthier, their leaves are more vibrant, and I've even had a few surprise blooms. I used to struggle with overwatering, but this meter has taken all the guesswork out of it. The meter itself is lightweight and easy to handle. The probe is long enough to reach deep into the soil, and the display is clear and easy to read. It's also incredibly helpful for identifying underwatered plants. Sometimes a plant might look droopy, and I'd assume it needs more water, but the meter often reveals the soil is already quite moist. If you're serious about keeping your houseplants happy and healthy, this moisture meter is an essential tool. It's affordable, easy to use, and takes all the guesswork out of watering.

Very helpful
These work well and I like how thin the rod is because it doesn’t disturb the soil much. I have another one that has more measurements, but it’s much thicker and not very idea for house plants. Most of my things are in smaller pots. This meter is very simple. Most of the time moisture is the only thing you really need. I will say I’ve had one that eventually given out on me. It will just say it’s dry when it’s not. So it’s possible that may happen, but I’ve had two for quite awhile now and I haven’t had a problem. I use them indoors and outdoors.

Follow the directions!
It doesn’t work in water! It measures the moisture in the soil! Wipe it off after use and for heaven’s sake, don’t leave it in the pot. It’ll last forever if taken care of properly. 🤗

A Lifesaver for My Plant
This piece of equipment is one of my best investments. It arrived on time. It is lightweight with a green smooth plastic head encasing the meter which reads “dry”, “moist”, and “wet”. Attached to this plastic headpiece piece, is a smooth metal pick designed to be pushed through the soil. The moisture content can be read at various levels in the soil. The device arrived with clear instructions for how to use it. In what I considered to be a bonus, it listed categories of plants and what the meter should read if the plant was adequately watered. You just stick it into the soil and almost instantly you have a reading on a meter of the amount of moisture in the soil at that level. I stick it in and give it a second for the reading to stabilize. Also, it came in a slender box with a cleaning cloth in the bottom compartment. The box could be opened from both ends. After wiping the tip clean, the device’s pointed bottom end can be tucked through a “fit to size” hole in the horizontal partition about halfway down the inside of the box. I have a brown thumb, but with this handy gadget, my ferns are thriving! I had been overwatering before I ordered this.

Don't fall for these things! They don't work!
These moisture meters are useless. They are not actually measuring moisture, they measure electrical currents. Different potting mediums will conduct different levels of electricity, even if they hold the exact same amount of moisture. Soil with fertilizer will read as wetter than soil without. Clay and soil will measure as wetter than silt and sand. You can have a bone dry plant, but it might read as wet if you have coconut coir in your potting mix, which means you'll underwater and kill your plant. This happened to me with my ferns, and caused me to look into how these things actually work. Succulent soil has more airflow, which will give you a low moisture reading, even if you've just given it a deep watering. Mine came up as dry, but the Terra Cotta pot was still damp, and the potting mix was fully saturated. I could've drown my plant! This thing is beyond useless in porous media. If you've just repotted a plant, the soil won't be as compacted as a plant that's been in the same soil for awhile, and therefore will read as more dry than it actually is. As the tip of the meter erodes, which it will, it will also read much differently than when it was new. On top of all that, the number values for watering that they include are way off. Hardly any of them are correct, so if you follow what the chart says, and the meter's reading, you will kill your plants. Use your finger! If you still can't tell, which is something I struggle with, you can stick a wooden skewer in the dirt and leave it for a few minutes, and then take it out to see how wet it is, and how far down in the soil the moisture is. I still struggle to know for sure when to water and how much to give them, but my guesses are still more accurate than these meters... And it's not just this one, it's literally all of them. Don't waste your money and kill your plants! I learned the hard way!

Graciasss
