I got this for my pre-teen daughter that is a heavy sleeper. The alarm is veryoud and sure enough to wake her up.

I was looking at alarm clocks for a long time and almost gave up, thinking that nobody was making them anymore and everybody was using their cell phones to wake up. Finally, I was able to find one that is almost ideal. It is a single-user clock, that I was looking for. Most of the clocks are multiuser, and IMO, they are useless since couples typically have clocks on either side of the bed. This clock is very easy to use, especially compared to some Sony clocks that require a PhD to set them up. It has a big display that is really easy to see, the brightness is adjustable and can be changed from hardly noticeable at night to fully visible in direct sun. The sound is also fully adjustable and can be made loud enough for any hard sleeper. I also like that the alarm time has up and down buttons, so you do not need to skip 55 mins if you want to wake up 5 minutes earlier; you can just go 5 minutes backward. IMO, only two things can be improved. The sound adjustment is made by a rotating wheel that is easily accessible and can be moved inadvertently, so I just put tape over it after I set the desired volume. Also, it would be nice if the brightness would match the ambient light; with my current super dim setting, it is hard to see time during daylight. On the other hand, the brightness can be increased with a turn of a wheel.

Super cool fun alarm clock. My son loved this. I think any kid would really enjoy it and it gives off a nightlight amount of light.

Great display with lots of brightness and color options. I like that it shows the date and day of the week. I like that you use a wheel to adjust the brightness and that it isn’t one that just offers 2 or 3 levels. The alarm is really easy to set and see if it’s set. My biggest issue is the sound of the alarm itself. Yes, it’s loud. Yes, you can adjust the volume. However, there’s a weird static-y noise that occurs when the buzzing of the alarm sounds. It doesn’t matter how low or loud you have it set for, it still makes this weird, kind of jarring static noise in conjunction with the buzzing itself. I like the rest of the features of this clock and haven’t found one I like better, so I am keeping this for now. But if I can find another one with as many of the important (to me) features, I’ll probably get it and use this one strictly as a clock in another room.
