Lots of fun gear but difficult telescope
Santa brought this as a gift for my 5 year old son. He had asked for a telescope like the one in this kit for Christmas, and he was really excited to receive it plus all the extras it came with. The only bad thing is that of everything included the piece he has the most trouble with is the telescope. He can't figure out how to get it to focus. I don't think he has the patience for it because it isn't very easy to do. What I like least in this kit is the whistle!

The type of gift I'd have loved as a kid
I bought this Explorer kit for my 5-year-old nephew for Christmas. He's going to love it - it's the kind of thing I'd have loved as a kid. The telescope and binoculars seem substantial. Flashlight doesn't use batteries (has a manual charger on the handle). The compass may be a bit too 'advanced' for a 5 year old (I was expecting something that basically just pointed out the directions). Whistle is a nice addition, and a nice bag to keep it all in. All this kit needs is a set of walkie talkies!

Super fun for your super spy
My daughter likes to pretend she is a spy. She was overjoyed to receive this spy kit on Christmas morning. With binoculars and a working compass she put all her spy gear in the little green backpack, it came with and she was on her way! This would also be a great gift for a nature-loving kiddo who wants to explore in the backyard.

Great buy
For my 3 year old son. He loves to explore and this was part of a Christmas gift. He had a blast at the camp setting up his tent, sleeping bad and outdoor toys to explore.The flash light is what I was most impressed with. It may actually come in handy for real life whenever a flashlight would be needed!The bag is a little big for the items that go in it, but that’s okay because he has room to add some of his own things. Very cute

This is the cutest little kit ever!! It comes delivered in a small box that's packed with fun goodies! All perfect for little kids. I bought this as a gift for my 5 year old so I cant say his reaction yet but he loves outdoorsy equipment and pretend play. This product looks so perfect for little kids. It’s a birthday gift for a 5 year old with a ninja themed party, and all the items look like they will be perfect. The flashlight and binoculars were my sons favorite items. The customer service was also excellent when I needed a replacement due to damage from shipping.

The binoculars are very weak, the compass falls apart and instructions would be helpful. The age appropriate range is too low on the bottom end. It should be no younger than 5.
