Machine Embroidery On Difficult Materials Paperback – April 22, 2009

I just purchased a machine to embroider and had zero knowledge. The book is well written and has chapters specifically on various kinds of stabilizers and when to use them, needles to use, and various hooping methods. She tells you why various fabrics are a problem and how to troubleshoot; what to try first, etc. She does not endorse any one product but lets you know what is available. Then there are specifics for each difficult material in their own chapters. It is a reference and resource book I will be going back to constantly.

My cousin told me about this book. It is a wonderful reference for anyone doing machine embroidery for personal or business. I keep it next to my machines. I really like the needle and stabilization guide. This will save you from buying too many specialty stabilizers. I wish I would have had the book 4 years ago, when I started. Embroidery.

This book is a huge help to anyone starting out in machine embroidery. Yes, you still have to try things out and make adjustments, but this gives you a place to start. For example, I wouldn't have known to stick with cut-away stabilizer on t-shirt fabric; I might have tried all sorts of goofy things, and not come up with that for some time. This book is an immense time-saver.

I guess I am not sure what I was expecting so I'm not sure I can really review this book very well. I do believe it is an excellent reference guide for materials, stabilizers, needles, and threads which may come in handy in the future. Not much on patterns or ideas that I remember. I honestly flipped through the book a couple of times, but not one I've spent a lot of time in reading.

This is one of the best books on Machine Embroidery I have ever read. The book was in excellent condition (brand new) and at a great price. Because this book was exactly what it says "Difficult Materials", I have been able to do machine embroidery on materials I never thought possible.

This book is a wonderful resource for any machine embroiderer. I have been doing machine embroidery for several years and still have found this to be an excellent resource. Great illustrations and good content.

I barrowed a copy of this book from a friend and knew I had to have my own copy. It hardly ever gets put away as I am always looking at it for advice on my newest project.

Not my favorite book, didn't learn much from it, would give it away and not miss it
