Just installed it to replace a Lorex 4k analog camera that the IR lights stopped working. Great picture and my DVR works with it.

This add-on dome camera is a great addition to your security system. It is a 1080P model camera and does not connect via POE. It has a BNC connection, so be sure to check the compatibility with your system. The camera produces a fairly clean image for it to be limited to 1080P.The camera and housing is majority metal, which makes it very rugged and should hold up well in the elements. You need to unscrew the base by twisting the upper portion of the base while securing the lower portion. Once it is separated, you have access to the mounting holes for installation. Be sure to leave the wires for the camera hanging out of the base unless you have drilled a hole through the mounting location to push the cables through. Otherwise you will not be able to push the wires out the side if the base has been mounted. Once installed you need to adjust your camera angle before twist locking the collar.I have had this camera hooked up for about 2 or more weeks and it is still working very well. This is a great dome camera option that will not break the bank yet give you good 1080p image quality.

Installing the camera requires to unscrew the dome and mount the base in an awkard position, while the dome hangs by a thin wire that more likely connects to the LED array - this could be easily damaged during base attach. A longer wire to the dome would have allowed to secure the dome out of base install area and avoid damage to the LED array( or an overhaul of the whole mounting design). To me this is a poor engineering design.Camera image contrast at night is not great either.

These are great so far so good. Do not purchase any cameras from Hikvision. They do not last more than a year before going bad.
