I hate using paper plate and plasticware at my home parties and events so these bamboo plates are perfect. They are so much nicer, sturdier than paper and definitely look hella better.

Works well as one-time use, recycled material. Color is only for casual use.

These are very nice -- sturdy, attractive, different, and sustainable. I was worried about what they would be like based on some of the other reviews, but they were fine. One reviewer had written that they aren't all the same, some in the package had stripes and were lighter than the others or whatever, and that is true, but not outside of a range you would expect to find in an all natural product. I worried also about some comments about whether they were strong enough to hold up to saucy foods, and they were completely fine. I served pulled pork, cole slaw, and baked beans on them, and they were completely adequate. There was no concern about cutting food on them, and my guests didn't really want to throw them away because they seemed like they could be washed and used again. You probably could do that but I had purchased them to be disposable while slightly more elegant than paper and I didn't want plastic. I did a pretty thorough job of researching the options, and ultimately chose these over another similar brand because that brand also appears to make political campaign items that I found to be offensive.

We ordered these and two other sizes for my daughter's graduation party and were so happy with the quality and look that we ordered another package of the 10 inch for a follow up celebration. They are sturdy, very attractive and easy to wash or recycle even if the price is high. I would use these for any special gathering but use excellent paper plates for a normal picnic or barbecue due to the price. I do not recommend the smallest size as they are not large enough to use for nearly anything.

We loved these! We used it for a large family pot-luck on Memorial Day--these large plates, plus 6" square plates, plus bowls. We got a lot of positive comments. They're sturdy and hold up to moist food well, even ice cream. We threw them in the trash, knowing that they will not be found in the landfill 20 years from now, let alone 100. My niece mentioned that she went to a business luncheon where they used these, and they had a special container for them to go into the city's compost. So we'll have to check with our city to find out if they are acceptable for he city's compost. We already know from experience that they do not degrade quickly enough to use in our own compost.

My tabletop theme for Thanksgiving was natural woods, white and grey, and I had originally been on the hunt for wood chargers to go under white porcelain dishes. These were waaaaay less expensive and looked great. I layered cloth napkins between the large and the small square plates and thought the place settings looked great - just the natural, relaxed harvest vibe I was looking for. Before dinner I tested the plates putting cranberry sauce on them for 4 hours to see if they would hold up to some of the sides, and they did! They didn't look cheap or disposable but were environmentally friendly and convenient. Loved them!! I only gave them a 4* on durability because one came out of the packaging chipped, but very attractive and great value. I would buy them again.

I don't like disposable items whenever there are alternatives available that are less detrimental to the planet. These are both attractive (match our bamboo accents in the house) and compost-able, made without harmful chemicals, but with natural ingredients (as per the claims). They are strong and attractive and perfect for the appetizer parties we like to host. I won't use them on a daily basis, but for the holidays and all the get-togethers we have at this time of the year they have come in handy.

These plates were a hit for a large brunch I posted. They were sturdy and attractive, and even mistaken for real plates! The best part is that they are fully biodegradable. I hate generating a lot of unnecessary waste, and these were the perfect solution.

Very cool for disposable plates. The palm has a papery feel, but they are sturdy, and actually started a conversation. We used them for thanksgiving, as we had a lot of people and needed to travel the next day. They fit the fall decor, and made cleanup easy. We composted them, but that was a guess :-)

Go to medieval festivals/weekend events. Don't like the foam plates usually used by caterers, so got a couple of sizes of these. Environmentally friendly, nice appearance, & thick enough for almost anything. Some people think they are harder wooden plates, & these weigh nothing at all.

I love this product! They are sturdy, beautiful and a fantastic alternative to paper/plastic/styrofoam products. Each piece has a different look which only adds to the uniqueness of the product. The Naturally Chic Dinnerware was everything that it was advertised to be. I recommend them to everyone and will be ordering more in the future! #keeptheplanetclean
