A Solid Choice for High-Heat Projects
I recently picked up this ceramic fiber insulation blanket for a DIY pizza oven project, and it’s been a great addition to my setup. The 24"x15.7"x1" size was just right for lining the dome of my oven, with a little left over after trimming. Cutting it was simple with a sharp utility knife, though I’d echo the product’s advice to wear gloves and a mask—there’s some dust when you slice it, and it can itch if it gets on your skin. The 2600°F rating is no joke. I’ve fired my oven up to around 900°F, and this blanket keeps the heat locked in where it belongs. The exterior of the oven stays cool enough to touch, which tells me the insulation is doing its job. It’s also held up well after a few uses—no signs of breaking down or charring, even with direct exposure to the firebox heat. The texture is dense but flexible, making it easy to tuck into curved spaces without tearing. On the downside, it’s a bit heavier than I expected for its size, so if you’re working on something portable, that might be a consideration. Also, while it’s advertised for a ton of uses (wood stoves, fireplaces, forges, etc.), the dimensions might limit it for larger applications unless you buy multiple pieces. For my pizza oven, though, it was spot-on. Compared to a cheaper fiberglass insulation I tried before, this ceramic blanket is leagues ahead—better heat retention and no weird smells when it gets hot. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but the quality feels worth it. I’d rate it 4 stars—knocking off a half point for the dust and weight, but rounding up because it performs so well where it counts. If you’re tackling a high-heat project, this is a reliable pick.

Worked great
Used to insulate the backing behind the gas fireplace and bricks, which had a steady breeze coming through. Was easy to cut with scissors for a good fit. Recommend wearing some sort of gloves, I used the rubberized knit gloves and they seemed to work great. Worked great, no breeze.

Nice product, worth every penny.
I purchased Lyrufexon Ceramic Fiber Insulation for it's high temp and fireproof ratings. I needed it to seal the area around my furnace vent pipe where it goes through to the attic. Not only was it a gap for heat to pass through, it was also an escape for bats to leave the attic and enter my home. They can no longer enter. :) Thanks for the great product!!!

Perfect for hot applications
I used this to insulate a (now) PID controlled toaster oven. This was the perfect thickness and can withstand high temps. This particular brand was the most I could find for the price.

Insulation near a burner.
Excellent choice for our application- exterior pipes near a water heater burner. I wanted to be absolutely sure there was no fire hazard insulating our pipes. Easy to use, but due use gloves and a long sleeve shirt. Easy to cut with scissors.
