Very sticky

The natural wave in my fine hair disappears when it dries. With Jane Carter Natural Hold Spray Gel, I can get the curl back. When my hair is towel-dry but damp, I comb it and use Jane Carter Natural Hold Spray Gel all over. I scrunch the hair while I use the dryer on high heat/low speed, and Voila! Everyone comments on my great "naturally curly" hair style. I tell them it's a Jane Carter "naturally curly" hair styling. It lasts until the next shampoo.

I hate this product. I despise ALL of the products in the Jane Carter line and I have tried three (The Ultra Light Hair Dress, the Natural Hold Spray Gel and the Twist and Lock Creme). I used this product twice, and got the exact same results both times.I do not believe these products are geared towards women with a type 3 curl. My hair is type 3, with all kinds represented. I have "S" pattern 3b on the roots and crown, 3c at the ends (it forms gorgeous corkscrew spirals) and the hair at the nape of my neck is wavy and does not curl until the very ends when it again goes into 3c spirals. My hair is definitely not kinky, I have defined curls. That being said, I used this product the ONLY TWO TIMES that I straightened my hair after going natural and it was terrible.I despise the smell. It is like a dead, citrusy flower. Overpowering and heavy and extremely artificial are the scents you will find upon opening a bottle of the Natural Hold Spray Gel. If you attempt to use this product while flat-ironing your hair as a heat protectant, it might be best to use as little as possible, which completely defeats the purpose of using a heat protectant at all!When applied to hair that is to be flat ironed, this s*** sticks to the hair, coating it in a gummy and sticky residue. Then, when you flat iron the hair, it does not absorb. I have sprayed this onto a section of hair and gone off to let it dry for up to ten minutes, then when I came back and ran the flat-iron over my hair it STILL gummed and sizzled as the heat hit my hair. Unacceptable. The product is made to protect the hair, not cause more damage. After you finish flat-ironing your hair, you will not be pleased with the results. My hair was EXTREMELY greasy looking when I was done. It was piece-y and looked dirty and oily, when I had just finished washing my hair less than two hours before.This is not right, and the product is not cheap, either. At my local health food store, this product goes for a whopping $14.95 per bottle. I have seen it at CVS in LA for $16.99, and I can't believe that people will actually pay that kind of money for a product line that smells as bad and works as poorly as this line does. I received this as a free full-sized sample when I worked at the health food store, so I did not pay anything for it. If I had paid $14.95 plus the 7.25% California tax on this, I would have been FUMING.I had to wash my hair after only a week, as my hair started accumulating natural oils that blended with the artificial and disgusting spray gel to form a greasy layer on top of my hair that made it look filthy. I was so angry I hurled this product into the trash bin, smiling happily as it shattered and leaked all over the dumpster. I know now to not EVER go near Jane Carter products again.

I really encourage everybody looking for a similar product to try this one. It leaves the hair very good and last throughout the day without harming it.Thanks...!!!!

Just a few light sprays and it holds all day. It's light and not sticky. Just what I was looking for.

this product is severely over priced. i can buy 2 of these products at curlmart, the actual jane carter website, or ebay. this seller is horrible! don't buy from here. u will be paying $16.80 for something that costs $9.

I love this holding spray as it holds and doesn't make the hair hard.I use other Jane carter products and they all work very well.I totally recommend these products, especially if you're african american.

This product at the moment is my holy grail !!! some customers have been really slating this product but I want to give it the benefit of the doubt its a really great product to have at least it is for me im in my late 40s now and when I was younger my hair was much much in better condition then it is today ive tried loads of things for my now aged greying thick course dryed out hair styling wise and condition wise and none of them were not that much good , my hair is was very rebellious before nothing that I tried would help style or help tame it at all but that was before I came across this product on amazon as I was looking for an alcoho lfree gel to help give me more control over my rebellious hair nohing and I mean nothing could really do the job so I thought I would give this one a go as it is alcohol free and any hair spray or tough going gel would just make me look like a brillo pad I think because of the alcohol they had in them , when I went outside in any kind of weather , but oh god people if you have thick course dry unruly hair like mine then you must try this product , when I first used it on my straightened hair I use straighteners , the first thing my boyfriend said to me was wow! you look like you've just stepped out of a salon , so people again just give this product a go im sure you will love it ,

It let my hair a bit sticky, but I loved the smell. However, I didn't notice it was a gel for heat styling...
