1 Pack disecu Heavy Duty 4 Digit Combination Lock, Anti-Error Feature, 2.5 Inch Long Shackle Outdoor Waterproof Padlock for School Gym Locker, Fence, Gate, Toolbox (Gun Black) - desertcart.com Review: Very durable - Works well and very durable Review: A good lock but is it fully weatherproof? - Combination padlocks are handy. I can never find the right key. This seems to be a medium strenth lock, which is OK. It has plenty of weight and feels solid enough. The method of setting the combination is easy enough. Open the lock, turn the screw like pointer on the left 1/4 turn and set your combination, then turn the screw back. Then the lock will only open with the combination you set and the screw will only turn to reset the combination if the lock is open. The ad says it is weather proof and very secure but looking at the bottom I wonder if water can get in and if the bottom plate can be pried off. Once the bottom plate is off you still may not be able to open it according to the ad. This is why I dropped it 1 star. Still this lock should work great for me a be a deterant and keep things locked.

Very heavy and good quality
I love how much weight there is to this padlock. In addition to the weight there is a very long shackle which makes it a lot easier to move around to get your code in. Now, obviously using a 4-digit code on your padlock is NOT the most secure option for a storage unit and things of that nature but if you are like me and don’t want yet another key on your key ring this is a great choice! This padlocks comes with a tool very similar to a flathead screwdriver that you can use to set your own 4-digit code that is easy for YOU to remember. When it arrives, it is set for 0000. Once you have put that code in, fully lift the shackle and twist the screw on the bottom to the red setting and then you can put in whatever code you wish. Then close the shackle and twist the screw back to green setting which will lock in your new code. Make sure to remember this because there’s no way to reset it if you have lost it (and why would you want there to be? Then anyone would be able to access what you have locked up!) This is an ideal padlock for medium security hasp locks or the like!

Decent construction with a thick shackle, but a big weakness as well
This lock feels fairly solid and looks nice with a smooth finish. The long shackle is perfect to fit over the gate latch so it can hang normally rather than be stuck up at an awkward angle with a normal length shackle. It is also thick so might take a little effort to cut with bolt cutters or discs. I got this to replace a keyed lock on the back gate mainly for convenience in case someone needs to get in when I'm not home. The combination wheels do move smoothly without binding and click into each numbered position nicely. It also includes a tool to reset the combination, which is a pretty simple process. Now to see how long it can withstand the constant sun and rain outside without rusting. The one big issue with I have with this lock is how easy it was to decrypt the combination just by feel. While I'm no lockpicking lawyer, there is way too much over travel when on the correct number that it took only a few minutes before I was able to learn how to open it without looking. Granted someone could just jump the gate in my use case anyway, but the second key selling point in this lock's description is "high security", so I was hoping for better, though not surprised given the cost. This might be ok for a short fence gate, but I would never use it for a locker or anyplace where I might put a phone, wallet or any other valuable items. For comparison, I've never been able to pick any master brand combination locks, but those are also typically much more expensive.

Quality; simple to reset to your own code
Bottom line: Overall decent quality; potential concern with the code-changing mechanism but should be fine for most users. Buy with confidence while bearing in mind that one caveat. My usage: Trailer door lock Likes: - the code wheels seem to be well-machined; little extra play in them; no 'catches' as you turn the wheels - attractive design - quality production Dislikes: - the access point for changing the code is a little screw on the bottom of the lock to the left of the code spin wheels; readily accessible. While the lock must be unlocked to change the code, there does seem to be a little play in the screw when the lock is locked shut, leaving me wondering how secure this code-changing feature actually is.

no more worries about having the key in your pocket!
I have a storage locker which has been sporting a "normal" (key) padlock for a generation, and it's been fine, but I don't GO to my storage locker all that much, so I kept the key in a drawer. My problem arose when I would happen to pass near my locker's location and think to pop in -- I never could, because I never had the key. Thanks to this little lock that is no longer an issue for me. "Programming" your 4 digit code into the lock is totally simple, and the fact that the lock's metal loop (whatever that's called) is so long (my old padlock was stubby) makes it a LOT easier to remove and put back in place than I was used to, so... an all around hit!

Don’t trust this lock with anything valuable
This lock functions, but is easy to decode. Simply pull on the shaft and try moving the dial. If they move, then it’s on the right one, if they don’t, then try a new number. It takes less than 30 seconds to decode and requires 0 skill. This lock is good to keep infants and toddlers out of cabinets, lock up a deck box filled with inexpensive items such as a football or basketball, or lock a pen to a counter so customers don’t walk off with it. The shackle is not hardened, the lock can be shimmed to open, and the rivets on the bottom can easily be ground down to let the lock fall apart. All told this is a bad lock and stay away. A bent paperclip or twist tie will provide similar security and at least has the potential to frustrate the person trying to rob you.

Sturdy, easy to set
This is a pretty strong little lock. It was easy to set and works well to lock up our propane tanks. It feels really sturdy so I imagine it will last a long time.
