Love this camera. Having used a cheaper alternative before spending a bit more and getting this, can say it's definitely worth paying the extra pennies. Fantastic quality video and audio. The image stabilisation is spot on, I was blown away by the quality. Multiple capture modes, good selection of recording quality options. Good audio, clear and full sounding but also reduces wind noise. The mounting options are well thought out and the mount docking with the case is really sturdy as it uses a mechanical clip alongside a strong magnet. I use this for downhill mountain biking, and find it a good camera for that. Not too large and heavy, which is nice as I helmet mount it. It's casing looks and feels robust. So should survive a few knocks. There is a sacrificial lens cover as well. My only real gripe is the fact you cannot use this without first connecting to the DJI app. As in, it gets locked out eventually without first syncing it with the app you've downloaded onto a phone. Google play don't allow the app on the Playstore due to security concerns, but it is available on Apple devices. I used an old IPhone for this as a workaround and the camera has worked perfectly since. All in all, I love this camera and would recommend it to anyone. But if you have an Android phone you may struggle a bit. I'd still give this 5* despite that.

The Action 4 is a big improvement, mostly because it has a bigger 1/1.3-inch sensor. This means that the camera works much better in low light and has a great dynamic range. You can even get great footage indoors or at dusk. With 10-bit D-Log M colour and a magnetic quick-release mount, it's a professional tool that's very easy to use. The 18m waterproofing without a case is a great feature for watersports.

Outstanding camera. I did download the app but use it without it now and just transfer the video to my phone for editing later. I have this mounted to the bars on my bike and with the rocksteady setting, even on really bumpy tracks or rides, still gives a nice smooth video. Much better than my Gopro. Battery lasts about 2 hours on 4k 60fps so anything longer take an extra battery or plug in a power bank fitted to the bike like I do.

Really good action camera, however I do think that there should be a feature to lock certain settings from being changed it’s very easy to setup one mode on the camera itself but any sort of nudge could change your video into a Timelapse which is really not great. Sound quality is impressive considering it’s from the camera itself without using a mic. The app is somewhat easy to control the problem is you will notice that the app usually has lots of issues or updates which is annoying. Video Quality is decent but I’d recommend not using the ultra wide angle because that introduces much lower quality video footage with more noise.

A wonderful action camera with incredible stabilization. I had a bad experience with the camera bracket breaking due to vibrations when attached to my bike handlebar. Luckily the camera survived, but made me decide to fit a safety lanyard so that should it occur again I would not have to rely on good fortune. I removed the camera from the frame and drilled 2 off 1.5mm holes in the corner of the frame. There is sufficient room behind the holes where I drilled to allow the lanyard to link without interfering with the camera. i used waxed polyester whipping twine obtainable from a chandlers to make the loop, which is 23 mm long. It is very easy to attach round the handlebar of the bike by passing it round the handlebar and threading the camera through the loop. The same technique can be used to attach it to any object or loop of twine in high risk camera applications.

Great action cam! Amazed by the quality of the recordings, the possible settings and the supporting iOS software to sync, edit and manage and publish photos, videos and streams. Glad I did not go for cheap “GoPro rip-offs”, but for this DJI Osmo Action 4 with competing top quality at a good price point. Plenty of mounting and lighting accessories to do any type of interior and outdoor recording. Great alternative to use in harsher context next to a more vulnerable and expensive iPhone 16Pro. Used it extensively in sub-tropical, wet and underwater conditions (28M depth, together with underwater housing). Eyeballing the 6, now that it came out, but the differences in specs and pricing are not convincing me (yet) to sell this one and purchase that one.

I have been using the Action 4 for a fair while now, motorcycle vlogging on YouTube. It is far and away the best action camera I have used. It is feature rich, solidly constructed, produces great quality video with excellent color and dynamic range, and best of all--It doesn't glitch like so many other cameras. I love the magnetic clip style mounting system. It takes all of 2 seconds to mount or remove from my helmet. I use the DJI audio adapter to connect to the mic in my helmet. The sound quality is excellent and fully adjustable in Db level. Exposure control is quite in depth using auto or manual modes, and the interface is intuitive making it easy to change settings. You can also create custom user settings saved in memory to quickly switch between preferences. I do wish the battery life was double what it is, but to be fair, most competitors are similar if not worse in that regard. My last camera had a 6 hour battery life but the video quality was nowhere near this, so I'll accept less battery life for a superior end result. Just have to plan ahead and have a spare battery handy. Note: order the combo if available or at least order the battery pack accessory with the camera. You'll be glad you did.
