I purchased this for my daughter to try Pokémon the trading card game. The card quality is good. There’s a nice card variety for new players to learn with. The sealability is good as everything can be tidily boxed back up. The appearance is slightly different to the main card game as this set is to learn with, so cards from this set can’t be used in the main game. The instructions are really clear and easy follow so you can get into the swing of things pretty quickly. 5/5

Fantastic game for my 6 year old to learn to play. The cards aren't collectable cards, but specific to the game, which means that the price isn't needlessly inflated due to scalpers. The rules are easy to learn and my 6 year old is now trying to teach everyone who enters our home how to play. Fully compatible with the Pikachu/Bulbasaur pack too.

This is the perfect introduction into Pokémon trading card game. Defiantly value for money. The cards that come with it are good no shiny cards just basic but that's all you need to learn. I would love more variety in the cards mix it up some. great starting off in to the game.

very good and easy to Learn how to play pokemon cards

My 6 year old daughter just started showing an interest in Pokémon cards, probably because a few of her friends at school have them. The full game looked a bit complicated so I bought this as a simplified version for us both to learn the basics. It is super easy to play and really good fun (although we currently stand at her winning 12 games, and me 1 so I’m not impressed 😂). I think we will progress to the Pokémon Battle Academy version quite quickly, and then start buying extra cards etc and transition into the ‘full game’ but this is so simple and compact that it is something we will keep to take on holidays for a fun distraction.

A 6 years old child grows out of it very quickly. Better to jump directly to a more complete version, and just play it in a simplified way and progressively add more rules. This was will just be abandoned after few plays.

Bought as stocking filler proved as a very popular Christmas present! Easy to understand was played for hours would recommend if you are looking to get into this game play

Great first deck for my 5 year old. He really likes having the main characters from the show as cards even though he's not exactly ready to play cards in the format suggested in the box, he still loves them.

Perfect intro to Pokémon.

This was really great. An easy way to teach my five and three year old pokemon cards. Please note the card backs are not the generic background, so you can't upgrade the decks at all.
