OXO Good Grips Smooth Edge Can Opener

It’s a very good can opener and easy to use

Just what I wanted! This can opener seals the rim so there are no sharp edges. The can opener attaches easily to the can & when you finish opening the can, you just unwind it 1/4 turn to detach it from the can. (There were no instructions in the packaging so it took me a few tries to figure this out!) The pincer/grabbers on the side let you remove the lid without getting your fingers messy. Nicely designed.

I bought a Kuhn Rikon a few years ago that worked great until about a year ago. It still works on some cans but not store brand (generic) cans. I don't know whether the Kuhn Rikon is wearing out or if they changed the lid sealing on the cans. The OXO Good Grips works on everything that I have tried it on. It's a little bigger than the Kuhn Rikon, slightly more difficult to operate, but it works.

This is a little bit hard to get the hang of, but if you can just be patient through the learning curve it's a great can opener, my favorite of all that I have tried. It basically unseals the top so there are no sharp edges and it just pops right off.

I've tried this on three separate cans, from different companies (Hunt's, Del Monte, and even Great Value), and it failed to open every one. The roller locks on to the can, and just spins it in a circle endlessly. I'm not sure what product all these other reviewers are talking about, but it's not what I received. Very disappointed in Oxo for this one.

Upgrade from the previous OXO model— much easier to use, still cuts smooth edges very well.

This can opener feels sturdy and works smoothly.

This product took a little getting used to, but it has become a staple in my kitchen. The handle turns easily and when finished there is a grip to remove the can lid. Plus it leaves a nice smooth edge. Easy on the hands as well.

Simple easy and not messy. Takes up less room than my old one
